What the Business CSRD Document Is

The Business CSRD Document is a structured corporate sustainability disclosure used to report environmental, social, and governance information in a standardized format. It maps organizational policies, targets, metrics, governance processes, and materiality assessments so stakeholders can evaluate nonfinancial performance. While the CSRD originated as an EU reporting standard, U.S.-based companies with EU operations or investors often prepare a Business CSRD Document to meet cross-border requirements and investor expectations. This document commonly includes scope definitions, emissions data, risk assessments, and assurance statements and is adapted to both internal reporting and statutory submissions.

Why a Business CSRD Document Matters for Your Organization

Using a Business CSRD Document clarifies sustainability commitments, aligns disclosures with investor and regulatory expectations, and supports cross-border compliance for companies operating in the EU. It improves comparability of nonfinancial data and documents governance controls for external assurance.

  • Sustainability officers, legal teams, and auditors compiling verifiable ESG evidence

Use the document to centralize metrics, support assurance, and demonstrate alignment with international reporting expectations.

Risk Management

Assurance Statement

Attach auditor or independent assurance reports covering data accuracy, methodology, and control environment. Specify assurance scope, level (limited or reasonable), and the assurance provider's qualifications.
