  • Skipping signer authority checks results in agreements signed by unauthorized representatives and later repudiation risks.

Practical tips for accurate and efficient completion

Follow these best practices to reduce review cycles, speed execution, and maintain a defensible audit trail.

Standardize the template
Keep a single, controlled master template for the Business Document for Kristen and update it centrally. Limit ad hoc edits to preserve version history and reduce legal review time.
Validate signer authority
Confirm signers have authority (title, corporate resolutions, or delegated signature power) before sending. Record the review in internal notes to support enforceability.
Use clear date and currency formats
Require MM/DD/YYYY for dates and specify currency and decimals for monetary amounts. Automated validation prevents common entry errors that lead to disputes.
Preserve the audit trail
Retain timestamped audit logs, IP addresses, and access records. These details support intent and attribution under ESIGN (15 U.S.C. §7001) and UETA frameworks.
