Who Prepares and Signs a Business Document Pratt

Typical creators and signers include in-house counsel, procurement or finance teams, small-business owners, and external vendors; usage varies by industry and document purpose.

  • Procurement and finance teams — prepare payment, pricing, and vendor details for contracting.
  • Legal counsel and contract managers — review terms, select governing law, and manage amendments.
  • Business owners and authorized officers — execute on behalf of the business with verified signature authority.

Identifying roles and authority up front prevents signature delays and ensures that routing follows organizational approval rules.
