What the Business Drain Request Form Is and When It’s Used

The Business Drain Request Form documents an authorized request to transfer, close, or otherwise remove funds, accounts, or services related to a business entity. Typical uses include final account closures, transfer-of-funds instructions after asset disposition, termination of payment services, or coordinated decommissioning of vendor accounts. The form identifies the business, the accounts affected, the authorized signer, transfer instructions, and any supporting documentation required by the receiving institution. It establishes clear authorization and a record for audit, tax reporting, and internal controls.

Why a Clear Business Drain Request Form Matters

A precise, signed request reduces processing delays, prevents unauthorized transfers, and creates an auditable trail for compliance, tax reporting, and internal controls. Proper documentation helps meet legal and banking requirements while protecting the organization from dispute or inadvertent liability.
