What the Business Form Revised Is and When to Use It

The Business Form Revised is an updated, standardized template for documenting business agreements, approvals, or transactional details between commercial parties. It consolidates party identification, material terms, effective date, and signature blocks into a single record designed for both paper and electronic execution. Where electronic signatures are used, the form is intended to meet U.S. legal standards for e-signatures under the ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. ch. 96) and UETA (where adopted), subject to statutory exceptions such as wills, court filings, and certain notices.

Why a Revised, Standardized Business Form Helps Your Organization

A single, clear template reduces errors, speeds approvals, and provides consistent evidence of parties’ intent. When combined with an audit trail, properly executed electronic forms support enforceability under ESIGN/UETA and reduce administrative burden across finance, legal, and operations teams.
