What the Business Information IN form is and when it’s used

The Business Information IN is a standardized form that collects core company data for administrative, regulatory, or commercial processes. It typically asks for legal entity name, business type, tax identification, principal address, contact details, authorized representatives, and signature blocks. Organizations use this document to onboard vendors, register for services, complete regulatory filings, or provide proof of corporate details to third parties. Accurate completion ensures correct tax reporting, valid contract formation, and reliable identity verification for downstream workflows.

Name the person authorized to sign on behalf of the entity and include title, contact, and signature block.

Attach formation records, IRS CP 575 or W-9, and an operating agreement or corporate resolution when signature authority is non-obvious.
