What the Business Outside Influence Form Is and When It’s Used

The Business Outside Influence Form is a standardized disclosure used to record relationships, interests, or activities outside a company that could influence business decisions. It captures personal or familial ties, outside employment, board memberships, gifts, and financial interests so organizations can assess conflicts, manage risk, and document mitigation steps in writing.

Why This Disclosure Matters for Governance and Compliance

Completing the Business Outside Influence Form helps organizations detect potential conflicts, meet internal governance obligations, and maintain transparent records for audits. Proper disclosure reduces legal and reputational risk, supports consistent decision-making, and provides an audit trail consistent with ESIGN/UETA standards when executed electronically.

Why This Disclosure Matters for Governance and Compliance
