What the Business Price Co CDPG Template Is

The Business Price Co CDPG Template is a standardized pricing and commercial disclosure document used to set, present, and record product or service prices, terms, and related commercial provisions for business transactions. It defines price line items, effective dates, payment terms, discounts, and any conditional pricing triggers. Organizations use the template to ensure consistent pricing communication, create an auditable record of agreed terms, and streamline internal approvals. The template can be completed, routed, and retained electronically for contractual clarity and operational tracking.

Why use this template for pricing and disclosures

A clear, consistent CDPG (commercial disclosure and price governance) template reduces ambiguity about fees and terms, supports internal approvals, and creates a record suitable for audits and regulatory review when required.

Why use this template for pricing and disclosures

Who typically completes or receives this template

Teams across sales, finance, and legal commonly prepare and review the CDPG to align pricing with corporate policy and regulatory obligations.

  • Sales operations and account executives: prepare customer-facing price schedules and document negotiated exceptions for approval.
  • Finance and billing teams: verify pricing math, taxes, and invoice mapping to ensure revenue recognition alignment.
  • Legal and compliance reviewers: confirm contractual language, warranty disclaimers, and regulatory disclosures are complete.

Stakeholders use the completed template to approve offers, record commitments, and share formal pricing with customers and resellers.

Common preparation errors to avoid

  • Mismatched entity names or signer titles that delay acceptance and require re-execution of the template.
  • Entering ambiguous pricing descriptions such as 'market rate' without quantitative ranges, creating enforcement disputes.
  • Failing to set or follow approval thresholds, which can leave unauthorized discounts in effect and impact margins.
  • Not preserving version history when edits occur, making it difficult to establish which terms were effective at signature time.

Risks and consequences of incorrect or incomplete templates

Contract Dispute: Financial exposure
Tax Issues: Incorrect reporting
Regulatory Noncompliance: Civil penalties
Revenue Leakage: Unauthorized discounts
Operational Delay: Fulfillment hold
Reputational Harm: Client trust erosion
