What the Business PSI Report Is and Why It Matters

The Business PSI Report is a structured diagnostic used to document a company's operational, financial, and compliance posture across key performance and risk indicators. It consolidates financial summaries, process inventories, risk assessments, and recommended remediation steps into a single reviewed document intended for internal decision makers, external advisors, or regulatory reviewers. Organizations use it to benchmark performance, verify controls, and support funding or procurement requests. The report format is adaptable but typically follows a standardized table of contents to ensure consistency across reporting periods and comparability between business units.

Primary Value of Completing a Business PSI Report

A completed Business PSI Report clarifies current exposures, aligns stakeholders on priorities, and provides an auditable record of actions and responsibilities. It supports governance, informs strategic planning, and documents compliance efforts in a format useful for boards, lenders, and auditors.
