Practical Tips to Reduce Risk and Speed Execution

Adopt practices that reduce risk, streamline review, and ensure executed agreements are enforceable and auditable across departments.

Use clear scope and milestones
Draft precise deliverables and acceptance criteria; attach a schedule of milestones. Identify who approves each deliverable and the acceptance test. Clear definitions reduce disputes and create unambiguous triggers for payments and contract completion.
Centralize document templates and approvals
Keep a controlled template repository with versioning and required clauses. Route non-standard changes through legal review. Centralization improves consistency, enforces minimum risk terms, and accelerates approval times through pre-approved redlines.
Confirm signer authority in advance
Verify corporate signatory authority or obtain resolutions for entity signers. For individuals, confirm title and authorization. Early confirmation prevents later claims of lack of authority and supports enforceability in court or arbitration.
Record and retain the audit trail
Preserve signed PDF, audit logs, signer IP addresses, and authentication evidence. Maintain copies according to retention policy and export to secure archives. Audit records substantiate signature attribution and are essential in disputes or regulatory reviews.
