Practical examples of how agreements are used

Real-world examples showing how organizations use the Business Services Agreement to manage delivery, compliance, and payment terms.

Consulting Engagement

A consulting firm used a tailored Business Services Agreement to set milestone-based fees, acceptance criteria, and delivery timelines for a software integration project.

  • This clarified payment triggers and reduced disputes.
  • As a result, the project saw fewer scope changes, faster approvals, and clearer invoicing; the firm tracked deliverables against contract milestones and used documented acceptance to release payments on schedule, reducing accounts receivable aging.

Vendor Services

A vendor providing facility maintenance defined deliverables, insurance limits, and indemnities in a Business Services Agreement to align expectations with a municipal client.

  • This allocated risks and clarified liability.
  • The agreement required certificates of insurance, service-level reporting, and step-in remedies; when performance issues occurred, the municipality enforced cure periods rather than immediate termination and administered liquidated damages only when cure failed.
