What the Business Services CSI Document Is and When It’s Used

The Business Services CSI Document is a standardized record used to define the scope, responsibilities, deliverables, pricing, and compliance checkpoints for a contracted business service. It typically combines a descriptive scope of work, service-level expectations, obligations for both parties, and a signature block for formal acceptance. Organizations use this document to reduce ambiguity, document approvals, and create a single source of truth for service delivery. When completed and retained properly, the CSI Document supports audits, invoicing, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance across commercial, healthcare, financial, and government use cases.
