What the Business Services HEH is and when it applies

The Business Services HEH is a standardized engagement and authorization document used to record the parties, scope of services, deliverables, fees, schedule, and signature authorizations for a business services arrangement. It formalizes responsibilities and payment terms, creates a single reference for invoicing and compliance, and is commonly used by procurement, vendor management, legal, and finance teams. The form is suitable for in-person or electronic completion; when signed electronically it must meet the ESIGN Act and applicable state UETA or ESRA requirements to be legally enforceable.

Why a clear Business Services HEH matters for organizations

A precise HEH reduces disputes, documents authorization, and supports timely payment while preserving enforceability under the ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. §7001) and state UETA rules. It also helps with audit readiness, consistent procurement controls, and consistent record retention for regulatory purposes.
