What the Business Services SAILAU document is

The Business Services SAILAU is a standardized service agreement template used to document the scope, fees, deliverables, and responsibilities between a business and a service provider. It combines commercial terms, contact and billing data, timelines, and signature blocks so the parties can form a clear contractual understanding. Where executed electronically, the document should meet U.S. e-signature legal requirements (ESIGN and state UETA or equivalent laws) and preserve an auditable record of consent, signer attribution, and the final executed file.

Why use the Business Services SAILAU in routine engagements

A clear, consistent SAILAU reduces ambiguity about services, payment, and timelines while supporting compliance and recordkeeping. Properly completed, it also creates an auditable digital record suitable for eSignature workflows governed by ESIGN and applicable state law.
