What the Business Services SEF Is and when it's used

The Business Services SEF is a standardized service entry form used to document and authorize business-to-business service engagements, scope items, pricing, and delivery milestones. It creates a written record of parties, effective dates, payment terms, and acceptance criteria so suppliers and clients share a common basis for invoicing and performance. The form is commonly used by professional services teams, managed service vendors, and internal procurement groups to confirm work performed, record approvals, and enable downstream billing or contract management workflows.

Why a clear Business Services SEF matters

A well-completed SEF reduces disputes, speeds invoicing, and clarifies deliverables and payment terms for both parties.

  • Vendors and subcontractors — provide completed service entries, time or deliverable details, and required tax or banking information.

Roles vary by organization; ensure the person signing has authority under the contract and is recorded on the SEF.
