What the Business Services SFE Agreement Covers

The Business Services SFE Agreement is a standardized service contract used to define the relationship between a service provider and a client for recurring or project-based business services. It typically sets scope of work, deliverables, fees, milestones, reporting, confidentiality, intellectual property ownership, liability limits, and termination conditions. The template is intended for use across commercial engagements where clear obligations, payment terms, acceptance criteria, and dispute-resolution provisions are required. The agreement is suitable for electronic execution under U.S. e-signature law when parties satisfy legal validity requirements.

Why a Clear SFE Agreement Helps Your Business

A well-structured SFE Agreement reduces ambiguity about responsibilities, payment timing, and deliverables, which lowers the chance of disputes and accelerates billing and collections. It also clarifies IP ownership, limits exposure through indemnities, and identifies the governing law for enforcement.

Why a Clear SFE Agreement Helps Your Business

Who Typically Completes a Business Services SFE Agreement

The agreement is used by a range of professionals in client‑facing and contract management roles across organizations.

  • Service providers and account managers who define deliverables, timelines, and invoicing expectations for customers.
  • Procurement, legal, and finance teams that review payment terms, tax reporting obligations, and commercial risk allocation.
  • Clients and project sponsors who accept scope, approve change orders, and ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies.

Signatory roles vary by organization size; confirm who has executed authority and whether countersignatures or notarization are required before sending.
