What the Business Services SS is and when it’s used

The Business Services SS is a written service statement used to define the scope, deliverables, pricing, timelines, roles, and basic contract terms between a service provider and a client. It typically accompanies proposals or master service agreements and can function as a standalone engagement letter for one-off projects or recurring services. The document clarifies responsibilities, payment terms, service levels, invoicing procedures, contact points, and termination rights so both parties have a single, consistent reference for operational and billing decisions.

Why a clear Business Services SS matters

A properly completed Business Services SS reduces ambiguity about deliverables, limits disputes, and speeds onboarding by making responsibilities, pricing, and timelines explicit. It also creates an auditable record for invoicing, compliance, and renewal decisions.
