What the Business Services SWS Template Is and When It’s Used

The Business Services SWS Template is a standardized service work statement used to describe scope, deliverables, schedules, pricing, and responsibilities for business-to-business services. It consolidates contract terms, milestones, payment triggers, and acceptance criteria into a single document that parties execute to govern a project or ongoing service engagement. The template is designed to be adapted for specific services, to support audit-ready recordkeeping, and to be completed and signed by authorized representatives for the buyer and the provider.

Why Use the Business Services SWS Template

A clear SWS Template reduces scope disputes, documents performance metrics, and standardizes terms across contracts. Using a consistent template helps legal, finance, and operations teams align expectations and speeds review and execution while preserving enforceability under U.S. electronic signature laws.
