What the Business Topaz Report Is and when it’s used

The Business Topaz Report is a structured business report used to summarize operational, financial, and compliance information for a company or business unit. It typically combines quantitative metrics, supporting documents, and narrative analysis to support internal decision making, third‑party reviews, financing, or regulatory submissions. Prepared by company management or an authorized representative, the report is often requested by lenders, investors, auditors, or contracting partners to assess performance, validate representations, and document risk. The report can be delivered as a signed PDF or as an e‑submitted package with an accompanying audit trail for recordkeeping.

Why the Business Topaz Report matters to stakeholders

A clear, accurate Business Topaz Report centralizes evidence of financial condition, compliance, and operational controls, reducing review cycles and supporting contractual or regulatory requirements. It helps reviewers make informed decisions with consistent data and documented signatory attestations.

Why the Business Topaz Report matters to stakeholders

Who typically prepares and reviews this report

Common preparers and recipients vary by use case but follow predictable roles.

  • Internal Finance Teams: Compile financial schedules, reconciliations, and management commentary for lenders or executives.
  • External Auditors and Advisors: Review accuracy, test controls, and request supporting records during due diligence.
  • Lenders and Investors: Evaluate creditworthiness, covenant compliance, and collateral documentation before committing capital.

Ensure the preparer and signatory have appropriate authority and that reviewers receive the complete supporting package to avoid delays.

Step-by-step completion process

Follow these sequential steps to prepare and finalize a Business Topaz Report with a clear audit trail.

  • 01
Gather Data: Collect financial statements, bank statements, and key contracts.

Assemble Report: Create standardized schedules, narrative summaries, and reconciliation notes.
  • 03

Confirm file formats, integrations, and authentication settings before distributing the report.

  • File Formats: PDF, DOCX, or XLSX
  • Integrations: CRM and cloud storage
  • Authentication: Email, SMS, MFA

Align platform choices with regulatory needs (for example HIPAA or SEC rules) and ensure recipients can open and retain the submitted files.

  • Upload Document: Add the finalized report and supporting attachments to the platform.
  • Place Fields: Insert signature, date, and required input fields in the document.
  • Assign Signers: Define recipients and the execution order for signatures.
  • Monitor Completion: Track progress and download completed copies with audit records.
