Project Identification

Scope of Work

Analyst shall perform the following services in accordance with professional standards and the specifications below. Services include file integrity checks, geometric validation, constraint and assembly analysis, interference detection, tolerance review where provided, and preparation of a written report of findings and recommendations.

Methodology and Assumptions

Analyst will use industry-standard CAD software and analysis routines. Results assume that provided CAD files and metadata are complete and represent the most current design iteration. Analyst is not responsible for errors existing in source data not disclosed by Client.

Findings and Recommendations

Payment Terms

Client shall pay Analyst the fees described below in consideration for the services and deliverables. All amounts are payable in the currency specified unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Term and Termination

Confidentiality

Each party shall hold in strict confidence all proprietary or confidential information disclosed by the other party in connection with this Agreement, including but not limited to CAD files, design data, specifications, and business information (collectively, "Confidential Information"). Confidential Information shall not be used except to perform obligations under this Agreement and shall not be disclosed to third parties except as required by law or with the disclosing party's prior written consent.

Analyst shall take commercially reasonable measures to safeguard Client's Confidential Information and shall restrict access to personnel who have a need to know. Confidentiality obligations survive termination for a period of three (3) years, except for trade secrets which shall remain protected for as long as the information qualifies as a trade secret under applicable law.

Intellectual Property and Use

Client retains ownership of all original CAD files and design data provided to Analyst. Analyst grants Client a non-exclusive, perpetual license to any deliverables that incorporate Analyst's standard templates solely for Client's internal use on the Project. Any custom intellectual property developed by Analyst specifically for Client under this Agreement will be assigned or licensed as specified in a separate written amendment.

Limitation of Liability

EXCEPT FOR LIABILITY ARISING FROM WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, NEITHER PARTY SHALL BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. ANALYST'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY CLIENT TO ANALYST UNDER THIS AGREEMENT.

Governing Law; Dispute Resolution

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction selected by Client: without regard to conflicts of law principles. The parties agree to attempt resolution of disputes in good faith prior to initiating formal legal proceedings.

Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with any attachments, exhibits, or statements of work expressly incorporated herein, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements, understandings, representations, and warranties, whether written or oral.

Acknowledgments

The undersigned represent and warrant that they are authorized to execute this Agreement on behalf of the respective parties and that the information provided herein is true and complete.

What a CAD Analysis Report Is and When it’s Used

A CAD Analysis Report documents the technical review and verification of a computer-aided design model, summarizing verification checks, dimensional tolerances, interference and collision findings, manufacturability notes, and recommended corrective actions. It typically references the model file name and revision, input assumptions, the analysis tools and settings used, and measured outputs or pass/fail criteria. The report serves as a formal record for design reviews, procurement handoffs, regulatory submissions, or contract deliverables and is commonly archived alongside drawings and change logs for traceability.

Why the CAD Analysis Report Matters

A clear CAD Analysis Report reduces rework, supports contract compliance, and documents decisions that affect safety and cost while providing an auditable trail for stakeholders and regulators.

Why the CAD Analysis Report Matters

Who Typically Prepares and Reviews This Report

The report is produced by engineers and reviewed by project leads, procurement, quality, and compliance stakeholders before release or approval.

  • Design Engineers and CAD Modelers — prepare detailed findings, tolerance checks, and corrective recommendations for the design team.
  • Project Managers and PMO — evaluate schedule and cost implications, confirm requirements are met, and coordinate approvals across teams.
  • Quality and Compliance Reviewers — verify standards conformance, acceptance criteria, and maintain records for audits or regulatory review.

Including the right reviewers early prevents downstream disputes and shortens approval cycles.

Step-by-Step: Completing a CAD Analysis Report

Follow a consistent sequence from file identification through analysis, findings, and sign-off to ensure completeness and traceability.

  • 01
    1. Identify: Record project, model file, and revision details.
  • 02
    2. Configure: Set analysis parameters, tolerances, and tool versions.
  • 03
    3. Run Checks: Execute interference, tolerance, and manufacturability checks.
  • 04
    4. Document: Summarize findings, corrective actions, and signer information.

Core Sections to Include in a Professional Report

Organize the report into standardized sections so reviewers can quickly locate assumptions, results, and recommended actions without reprocessing the model.

Model Identification

Include file name, CAD system/version, date, and revision history so recipients can reproduce or locate the exact model instance used for analysis.

Analysis Settings

Record tolerances, units, solver settings, and any preprocessing steps; these parameters determine whether results are comparable across runs.

Validation Results

Summarize interference checks, geometric deviations, and tolerance compliance with pass/fail flags and measured values for quick assessment.

Manufacturability Notes

Flag features that complicate fabrication, tooling, or assembly and propose design adjustments when appropriate to reduce cost and lead time.

Risk & Impact

Describe safety, schedule, or cost impacts of findings and quantify where possible to support corrective decisions.

Signatures & Approvals

List individuals who reviewed and approved the report, their roles, and dated signatures or electronic attestations for auditability.

Required Identification and Reference Fields

Project ID: Unique project code
Model Reference: Filename and version
Author Name: Full legal name
Analysis Date: MM/DD/YYYY
Approval Signers: Names and roles
Revision History: Change log entries

Common Preparation Challenges to Avoid

  • Incomplete model references that make reproducing the analysis impossible and force costly rework to identify the correct file.
  • Failing to record analysis settings (units, tolerances, solver) which leads to inconsistent results between teams and wasted verification effort.
  • Using ambiguous action language such as 'correct if needed' instead of concrete corrective steps tied to responsible parties and deadlines.
  • Omitting signatory roles or dates, which undermines auditability and may delay procurement, inspection, or regulatory acceptance.

Typical Review and Submission Flow

A clear workflow reduces review cycles: submit, validate, review, approve, and archive with an auditable record of all actions.

  • Submit: Upload report and model reference to the document system.
  • Validate: Run automated checks and attach results.
  • Review: Design and QA review findings and comments.
  • Approve: Authorized signers apply signatures and finalize.

Typical Digital Workflow Settings for eSubmission

Configure digital routes, authentication, and retention before sending to ensure compliance and reduce signer friction.

Field Configuration
Authentication Email + optional SMS code
Signature Order Sequential or parallel routing
Audit Trail Enable full action logging
Retention Set archival period and export format

Technical Requirements for eSubmission and Sharing

Ensure the platform supports required file formats, signer authentication, and an auditable trail before distributing the report.

  • File Formats: PDF, DWG, STEP support
  • Integrations: Salesforce, NetSuite, Google Workspace
  • Mobile Access: Signing on desktop and mobile

Consequences of an Incorrect or Incomplete Report

Contractual Delay: Missed milestones or acceptance
Safety Exposure: Unidentified interference or failure modes
Rework Costs: Engineering and manufacturing expense
Regulatory Noncompliance: Permit or audit impacts
Liability Risk: Professional negligence claims possible
Tender Rejection: Bid or payment delays
