What the Client Agreement to Sign Is and when it applies

A Client Agreement to Sign is a written contract that records terms between a service provider and a client, establishing scope, payment, deliverables, and responsibilities. It can be a stand-alone engagement contract, an addendum, or a signature page attached to a larger agreement. When executed correctly it creates enforceable obligations and can be signed electronically under U.S. e‑signature law, provided required disclosures and consent are followed.

Why a clear Client Agreement to Sign matters for risk and enforceability

A concise Client Agreement to Sign clarifies expectations, reduces disputes, and documents consent and consideration. For electronic execution it must meet ESIGN and UETA requirements to ensure enforceability and preserve evidentiary value.
