What a Closing Paid Document Is

A Closing Paid Document is a formal record used at the conclusion of a real estate or commercial closing to confirm that closing costs, payoffs, liens, and disbursements have been paid and final funds have been distributed. It typically accompanies the settlement statement, lists itemized charges and credits, records payoff and recording details, and includes signature blocks and acknowledgements that obligations are satisfied. The document provides proof for buyers, sellers, lenders, title officers, and tax authorities that the transaction closed and financial responsibilities were met.

Why this document matters for closing certainty

A clear Closing Paid Document reduces post-closing disputes by documenting exact payoffs, recording status, and disbursements, and it supports tax reporting, lien clearance, and audit readiness.
