What the Color Selection Panolam Colors form is

The Color Selection Panolam Colors is a standardized selection and specification sheet used to record laminate color, finish, and substrate choices for Panolam products. It documents exact color codes, finish types, edge details, sample requests, project reference numbers and approval signatures so manufacturers, fabricators, designers, and clients have a single authoritative record for color matching and production.

Why a precise color selection record matters

A formal Color Selection Panolam Colors sheet reduces rework, aligns expectations across stakeholders, and creates a clear audit trail for approvals. Accurate records protect project schedules and budgets by preventing color mismatches and facilitating consistent ordering and production.

Why a precise color selection record matters

Who typically completes and relies on this color selection

Common participants fill, review, and sign the form to confirm visual and material choices before production.

  • Interior designers and architects specifying finishes for client approvals and aesthetic coordination.
  • Fabricators and manufacturers using exact codes and substrate notes to order materials and program production equipment.
  • Project managers and contractors verifying approved colors against site mockups and installation schedules.

Each party uses the completed form for different purposes: procurement, quality control, and final installation verification.

Core parts of a professional Color Selection Panolam Colors sheet

A complete form combines identification, visual reference, and approval controls so production can proceed without ambiguity.

Color Code

Manufacturer color designation (e.g., Panolam code) plus any alternate names and vendor SKU to ensure an exact match.

Finish Type

Specify gloss, matte, textured, or specialty finish and include any performance notes such as abrasion or chemical resistance.

Substrate

Identify core substrate (MDF, HPL, phenolic, etc.), thickness, and required edge treatment to prevent production errors.

Sample Request

Record sample ID, who approved it, and date of sample approval so the production reference is traceable to a physical swatch.

Quantities

List panel dimensions, linear feet, or piece counts per color to align ordering, inventory, and cost estimates.

  • Missing or unsigned approval fields create procurement ambiguity and can pause production until approvals are obtained.
  • Not ordering a physical sample for critical visual matches increases the risk of client dissatisfaction and costly rework.

Consequences of incorrect or incomplete color selections

Material Waste: Scrap and replacement costs
Installation Rework: Additional labor charges
Client Disputes: Contractual disagreements
