What an Educational Video Class Contract Covers

An Educational Video Class Contract is a written agreement that sets the terms for producing, delivering, licensing, and using recorded instructional content. It identifies the parties (instructor, institution, or vendor and the purchaser or licensee), describes the class scope and delivery format, allocates intellectual property and distribution rights, specifies payment and refund terms, and covers privacy, accessibility, and compliance obligations. For online completion and signature, the agreement can be executed electronically under federal and state e-signature law when the parties meet ESIGN/UETA requirements.

Why this agreement matters for creators and hosts

A clear contract reduces disputes by documenting who owns content, who may share recordings, and how learners may use materials. It sets financial terms and protects privacy and accessibility obligations.
