What a Furniture Retail Agreement Covers

A Furniture Retail Agreement is a written contract between a furniture retailer and a buyer that records the sale, delivery, installation, payment, financing (if any), warranties, and return or restocking terms for specified items. It itemizes products, pricing, taxes, delivery windows, assembly or installation scope, and allocation of risk of loss. The agreement also sets dispute-resolution terms, governing law, and contact and billing information. When signed by authorized parties, it creates enforceable obligations under regular contract law and applicable electronic signature statutes.

Why Using a Written Agreement Matters

Documenting price, delivery, installation, warranties, and returns reduces disputes, clarifies responsibilities, and supports collections, financing, and warranty claims under applicable state and federal rules.

Why Using a Written Agreement Matters

Who Typically Completes This Agreement

Retailers and customers commonly use this agreement to document sales and services in-store and online.

  • Independent furniture stores that sell and install goods, manage returns, and offer local delivery.
  • Regional and national retail chains handling large volumes, bundled delivery, and financing programs.
  • Consumers purchasing for homes or businesses, or property managers buying for rental units.

Use this form to set expectations, reduce disputes, and preserve evidence for warranty, tax, or financing purposes.

Key Roles and Signing Authorities

Store Owner

Responsible for approving standard terms, authorizing delivery and installation, and agreeing to credit or financing terms. Should confirm item descriptions, delivery windows, and return policies and retain a signed copy for accounting and warranty administration.

Purchasing Manager
