What a Laundromat Service Agreement Is and when to use it

A Laundromat Service Agreement is a written contract between a laundry service provider and a customer that defines services, payment, pickup/delivery specifics, liability allocation, and performance expectations. It typically covers service scope (wash, dry, fold, repair), turnaround times, pricing, lost or damaged item procedures, insurance requirements, and termination rights. The agreement creates enforceable obligations and reduces disputes by documenting responsibilities, accepted methods of communication, and remedies. When executed properly it can be retained as a business record and, in most cases, executed electronically in compliance with federal and state e-signature law.

Why documenting laundry services matters

A clear Service Agreement protects both parties by setting expectations, assigning liability for lost or damaged items, establishing payment and cancellation terms, and reducing disputes. It also documents consent for recurring charges and supports insurance or claim processes when damage occurs.

Why documenting laundry services matters

Who typically completes a Laundromat Service Agreement

The agreement is used by businesses and individuals who provide or receive laundry services in commercial or residential contexts.

  • Laundromat owners and managers setting service standards and recurring billing terms.
  • Delivery or pickup drivers contracted by laundromats for third-party collection and return.
  • Property managers or multi-unit housing operators arranging bulk laundry services for tenants.

Use the contract to standardize terms, reduce customer disputes, and capture signatures whether in person or electronically.

Primary signers and roles

Owner / Operator

The business owner or authorized manager signs to accept liability limits, set pricing, and confirm insurance coverage. Their signature binds the laundromat to service standards and payment collection methods, and must be an authorized corporate officer where applicable.

Customer / Representative

An individual customer, authorized tenant, or corporate representative signs to accept fees, pickup instructions, and liability waivers. Ensure the signer has authority to permit billing and to agree to loss-damage limits on behalf of organizations.

Key information to collect on the form

Customer Name: Full legal name
Service Type: Wash / dry / fold / repair
Pickup Address: Street, city, state, ZIP
Pricing: Flat fee or per-pound
Payment Terms: Due on pickup or net term
Signature & Date: Signer and MM/DD/YYYY

Common pitfalls to avoid

  • Unclear pricing or undefined weight vs. item rates leads to customer disputes and chargebacks during reconciliation.
  • Missing pickup and delivery windows creates scheduling conflicts and service delays for multi-stop routes.
  • Vague liability clauses that do not state limits, insurance requirements, or claim procedures invite litigation.
  • Failing to require an authorized signature or provide proof of authorization risks unenforceable billing for corporate accounts.
