What the Marketing Influencer Commission Document Is

A Marketing Influencer Commission Document is a written agreement that records the compensation terms, performance metrics, deliverables, and payment schedule between a brand or agency and an influencer. It defines commission rates, tracking methods, revenue attribution rules, reporting cadence, and timelines for payment. The document establishes responsibilities for content creation, disclosure obligations under FTC rules, and tax onboarding items such as W-9 collection for U.S.-based influencers. Well-structured commission documents reduce disputes by clarifying measurement, payment triggers, and remediation for missed deliverables.

Why a Clear Commission Document Matters for Campaigns

A precise commission document aligns expectations, simplifies payout calculations, and documents legal and tax obligations for both parties in one place.

Who Typically Uses This Commission Document

Brands, marketing agencies, and independent influencers use this document to formalize compensation and performance terms.

It also serves finance, legal, and talent managers who need a consistent record for payments, tax reporting, and audits.
