What the Marketing Klaviyo and SEO Agreement Covers

A Marketing Klaviyo and SEO Agreement is a written contract that sets terms between a service provider and a client for email marketing via Klaviyo and search engine optimization services. It defines scope, deliverables, timelines, data access and handling, payment terms, intellectual property rights, confidentiality, and termination conditions so both parties understand obligations and risk allocation under U.S. law.

Why a Dedicated Klaviyo and SEO Agreement Matters

Using a focused agreement clarifies the scope of email automation and SEO work, protects customer data, and sets measurable milestones and payment triggers. It reduces disputes by documenting responsibilities, data permissions for Klaviyo account access, and remedies if performance or compliance standards are not met.

Why a Dedicated Klaviyo and SEO Agreement Matters

Who Typically Uses This Agreement

These agreements are used by agencies, consultants, and in-house marketing teams to govern Klaviyo email programs and SEO services.

  • Marketing agencies and consultants who manage Klaviyo accounts and ongoing SEO campaigns for multiple clients.
  • E-commerce merchants delegating email automation, list segmentation, and SEO to external specialists.
  • In-house marketing teams that need standardized contracts for recurring optimization and compliance.

Use this template to ensure consistent terms across engagements, reduce negotiation time, and document data access and retention expectations.

Core Elements to Include in a Professional Agreement

A comprehensive document breaks the engagement into distinct, enforceable sections that address deliverables, performance measurement, data handling, rights, and exit terms.

IP & Deliverables

Clarify ownership of creative assets, templates, code snippets, and whether work-for-hire or license terms apply for content and tracking scripts.

Privacy & Compliance
