What the Marketing Landing Pages Proposal Is

A Marketing Landing Pages Proposal is a written document that outlines the scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing for building or optimizing landing pages tied to a campaign. It typically describes objectives, target audience, creative and technical requirements (design, copy, form fields, tracking), acceptance criteria, and any third‑party integrations. For businesses, the proposal functions as the basis for mutual expectations between marketing teams, agencies, and stakeholders and may be converted into a binding agreement once signed by authorized parties and incorporated into a master services agreement.

Why a Clear Proposal Matters

A well-structured proposal reduces ambiguity about deliverables and timelines, sets measurable success criteria for conversion and traffic, and documents intellectual property and payment terms in a single place.

Why a Clear Proposal Matters

Who Typically Prepares or Signs This Proposal

Identifying the correct preparer and signer up front speeds approval and reduces back-and-forth during contract execution.

  • Marketing Managers and Directors who control budgets and approve creative direction and measurement targets.
  • Agency Account Leads and Project Managers who detail scope, milestones, and responsibilities to clients.
  • Procurement Officers or Legal Representatives who review commercial terms and sign contractual attachments.

Core Components to Include in the Proposal

Six essential sections help reviewers evaluate and approve marketing landing page work quickly and consistently.

Objective

Concise campaign goal and primary KPI (for example, lead form submissions per week or cost per acquisition target). Tie the objective to measurable metrics and reporting cadence.

Scope

List pages, variants, form fields, A/B tests, and required integrations (analytics, CRM, ad pixels). Specify which party handles content, images, and hosting.

Deliverables

Enumerate artifacts: wireframes, designs, production HTML/CSS, tracking setup, QA report, and final exportable files or CMS handoff instructions.

Timeline

Provide milestone dates for kickoff, design review, development, QA, UAT, and launch, including acceptance windows and revision limits.

Pricing

State fixed fees or time-and-materials rates, payment schedule, expenses, and change order process. Include tax handling and invoicing terms.

Legal Terms

Clarify IP ownership, confidentiality, warranties, liability limits, termination rights, and the governing law for the agreement.

Step-by-Step: Completing and Approving the Proposal

Follow these sequential steps from draft to executed agreement to ensure a smooth approval cycle and clear record of consent.

  • 01
Draft: Prepare scope, timeline, and pricing; attach exhibits.
  • 02
Internal Review: Obtain input from legal, finance, and technical teams.
  • 03
Client Review: Share with client contact for feedback and redlines.
  • 04
Execution: Collect signatures and save executed copy.

Configuring an Online Approval and Signing Workflow

Map authoring, review, and signature steps so digital routing and notification settings match business approval rules.

Field Configuration
Authoring Access Assign single editor role and version control with comments enabled
Review Rounds Limit to two client review rounds before chargeable change orders apply
Signer Order Set sequential or parallel signing depending on approval hierarchy
Audit Trail Enable timestamp and IP capture for each signature event

Where the Proposal Goes After You Finish

A predictable routing path reduces signer confusion: upload, assign fields, route to signers, confirm execution, and archive.

  • Upload: Store master document in a versioned folder
  • Assign Fields: Add signature, name, date, and optional initials
  • Route: Send to signers with clear order or links
  • Archive: Save signed PDF and metadata in records

Technical Options for eSubmission and Signing

Confirm the platform meets any industry compliance needs (for example HIPAA for healthcare clients) and preserves audit trails for each signing event.

  • File Formats: PDF and DOCX supported
  • Integrations: Popular integrations include Salesforce and Google Workspace
  • Security: TLS and AES encryption required

Real-World Examples of Proposal Use

Illustrative examples show how organizations structure proposals for different scales of work and how digital signing fit into their workflows.

Optica Ventures Case

The interface is simple and easy-to-use for our team; more importantly, it is just as easy for our customers.

  • Rapid turnaround reduced back-and-forth by two review cycles.
  • Optica consolidated versions and maintained a single signed PDF per project, improving archive retrieval and reducing approval time.

Martin Properties Case

I can process and execute all of these documents online with 100% compliance and built-in security.

  • Mobile and offline signing supported field agents.
  • The team eliminated in-person meetings for routine approvals and kept a complete audit trail tied to each executed proposal.

Who Can Sign and Why It Matters

Authorized Signer

An authorized signer is the person the client authorizes to bind the company—typically a director, officer, or procurement designee. Confirm signer authority in the proposal to prevent later disputes about enforceability.

Agency Representative

An agency account lead or operations manager may sign under delegated authority. Ensure delegation is documented and consistent with internal policies to validate signature attribution.

Common Mistakes That Delay Approval

  • Using informal or inconsistent legal names that mismatch tax documents and payment records.
  • Failing to specify acceptance criteria or measurable KPIs, which leads to scope disputes after delivery.
  • Omitting required integration details (for example CRM field mappings and tracking pixels).
  • Not identifying the authorized signer or providing proof of signing authority before execution.

Risks of an Incomplete or Incorrect Proposal

Scope Drift: Lost revenue
Payment Delays: Delayed invoices
Contract Disputes: Potential litigation
Noncompliance: Regulatory exposure
Data Exposure: Privacy risk
Invalid Signature: Enforceability issues
