What the Performance Agreement Petit Opera Is

The Performance Agreement Petit Opera is a written contract that documents the arrangement between a performing artist or group and Petit Opera (or a venue/promoter) for a scheduled performance. It sets the performance date, times, compensation, technical and hospitality requirements, cancellation and force majeure rules, liability and insurance obligations, intellectual property rights for recordings, and payment and tax reporting responsibilities. The agreement establishes responsibilities for both parties, creates enforceable remedies for breach, and serves as the primary record for scheduling, invoicing, permits, and post-event reconciliation.

Why a Clear Performance Agreement Matters

A well-drafted Performance Agreement Petit Opera reduces ambiguity about dates, payment, and technical needs, lowers the risk of disputes, and documents tax and insurance obligations for both parties.

Why a Clear Performance Agreement Matters

Who Typically Prepares and Signs This Agreement

The agreement is used by presenters, venues, artist representatives, and institutional partners to allocate responsibilities and protect financial and legal interests.

  • Venue managers and presenters who coordinate dates, staging, and payments; ensure contract terms match venue policies and local permit requirements.
  • Artists or their agents who confirm fees, technical riders, promotional commitments, and rights for recordings or livestreams.
  • Legal counsel or production managers who add indemnity, insurance, and cancellation language to align with organizational risk tolerance.
