What a Performer Performance Agreement Is

A Performer Performance Agreement is a written contract between a performer (solo artist, band, troupe) and an event organizer, promoter, or venue that sets the terms for a specific performance. It defines the date, start and end times, location, fee or revenue split, deposit and final payment schedule, technical and hospitality rider items, cancellation and force majeure rules, intellectual property and recording permissions, and dispute resolution. The agreement allocates responsibilities for setup, soundcheck, insurance, and permits and establishes signature blocks for both parties to acknowledge acceptance.

Why a Clear Agreement Benefits Everyone

A concise Performer Performance Agreement reduces ambiguity about payment, schedule, and rights, lowers legal and financial risk, and documents remedies for cancellations or breaches so both performer and organizer can plan confidently.
