What the Project Layout Confirmation Form Is

The Project Layout Confirmation Form documents the placement and orientation of on-site elements—building footprints, setbacks, utilities, and site improvements—relative to approved plans. It records measurements, identifies the drawing or revision referenced, and captures confirmations from surveyors, contractors, or inspectors that the installed layout matches the permitted design.

Why this form matters for project control

A clear, signed layout confirmation reduces disputes, speeds permitting and inspections, and creates an auditable record for contractors, owners, and regulators.

Why this form matters for project control

Who typically completes and signs this form

Multiple parties use this form to confirm on-site conditions and compliance with approved plans.

  • General Contractors confirming that the installed layout matches contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors.
  • Licensed Surveyors or Engineers attesting to measured setbacks, elevations, and control points.
  • Municipal Inspectors or Permit Officials verifying compliance before issuing occupancy or final approvals.

The signed form becomes part of project records and may be required for final inspections, certificate of occupancy, or lien release.

Core components of a professional layout confirmation

A well-prepared Project Layout Confirmation Form combines clear identification, precise measurements, reference drawings, responsible-party attestations, signature blocks, and space for attachments or field notes.

Signature Blocks

Print name, license or firm, title, signature, date, and contact details for each signer.

Attachments
