What the Project Management Brick Template Is

The Project Management Brick Template is a reusable, standardized project planning file that captures scope, objectives, deliverables, schedule, resource assignments, budget estimates, risk register entries, and change-control procedures. It combines baseline milestones, acceptance criteria, communication plans, and a signature block so approvals and version history are recorded alongside project content. The template is compatible with common formats (PDF, DOCX) and supports electronic completion and signatures; when executed under the ESIGN Act or applicable state UETA law it can serve as an enforceable record. The brick model enables quick customization for recurring project types and consistent governance.

Why a Brick Template Improves Project Outcomes

A standardized Project Management Brick Template reduces setup time, prevents omissions, and centralizes approvals and version control. It clarifies roles and responsibilities, makes scope changes auditable, and shortens routing cycles for stakeholder sign-off while supporting consistent recordkeeping and dispute resolution.

Why a Brick Template Improves Project Outcomes

Who Typically Uses This Template

Teams that need repeatable, auditable project plans and rapid approvals rely on a Project Management Brick Template for consistency across initiatives and portfolios.

  • Project Managers and PMOs who standardize delivery, track baselines, and collect stakeholder approvals across similar projects.
  • Contractors and vendors who must provide a scope, schedule, and acceptance criteria before beginning billable work.
  • Business sponsors and functional leads who approve milestones, budgets, and change requests and require an auditable signature trail.

Use spans private companies, nonprofits, and government programs where repeatability, auditability, and clear assignment of responsibilities reduce operational risk.

Step-by-Step: Fill and Finalize the Template

Follow this sequence to complete, approve, and archive the Project Management Brick Template with an auditable trail.

  • 01
Prepare: Populate title, ID, effective date, and scope before adding attachments.
  • 02
Assign Roles: List owner, approvers, and responsible parties with contact emails.
  • 03
Set Milestones: Enter milestone dates, acceptance criteria, and dependencies.
  • 04
Collect Signatures: Send for signature using eSignature or capture notarization if required.

Configure Online Workflow Fields

Configure the template’s conditional fields, notifications, and authentication to match your approvals and security needs.

Field Configuration
Template Name Use a standard naming convention for version control
Conditional Fields Show budget or vendor sections only when applicable
Notifications Email or SMS alerts for pending approvals
Authentication Choose email, SMS code, or KBA per signer risk

Delivery and Platform Considerations

Decide how you will distribute, sign, and store each completed brick before collecting approvals.

  • File Formats: Export as PDF or DOCX for compatibility
  • Integrations: Connect to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or NetSuite
  • Authentication: Apply SMS or access codes for higher assurance

Ensure the chosen platform supports audit trails, required authentication levels, and the storage location meets your retention and compliance obligations.

How to Route and Submit a Completed Brick

The submission flow should preserve approvals, timestamps, and a retrievable audit trail for governance and compliance.

  • Upload Document: Add the finalized template to the eSignature or document management system
  • Place Fields: Insert signature, date, and conditional fields where approvals are required
  • Send to Signers: Route in order or parallel with authentication options
  • Archive: Store the executed copy plus certificate of completion
