What a Real Estate Pretype Agreement Is

Real Estate Pretype Agreement is a preparatory document used by brokers, agents, title companies, and legal counsel to collect standardized property, party, and transaction details before producing a formal purchase contract or lease. It organizes property identification, buyer and seller data, proposed terms, contingencies, and deadlines in a machine-readable format to reduce manual entry. Organizations use it to speed template population, ensure consistency across forms, and reduce transcription errors during contract drafting and eFiling. It is not itself a final binding purchase agreement unless signed and executed with required legal formalities and signatures.

Why use a Pretype Agreement in real estate workflows

A Real Estate Pretype Agreement reduces drafting time, minimizes data entry errors, and standardizes essential disclosures. It clarifies responsibilities and timelines before contract preparation, supporting faster review cycles and consistent compliance with jurisdictional disclosure rules.

Why use a Pretype Agreement in real estate workflows

Who typically prepares or completes this pretype form

Typical users include brokers, title agents, attorneys, lenders, and property managers preparing transaction details before drafting binding contracts.

  • Real estate brokers prefill listing and buyer information to accelerate offer preparation.
  • Title companies consolidate legal descriptions and chain-of-title details for consistent deed drafting.
  • Lenders and escrow agents use it to verify party data and prepare closing checklists.

The form benefits multiple participants by reducing rekeying, improving accuracy, and creating a single source of truth for transaction data.

Essential sections included in a Pretype Agreement
