What a Roofing Project Agreement Covers

A Roofing Project Agreement is a written contract between a property owner and a roofing contractor that defines scope, materials, schedule, payment, permits, warranties, insurance, and dispute resolution. It documents responsibilities, performance milestones, acceptance criteria, and change-order procedures, and serves as the primary record for claims, inspections, and lien rights. When signed by all parties, the agreement creates enforceable obligations under contract law; electronic signatures are generally valid under the ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. ch. 96) and state UETA statutes.

Why a Clear Agreement Matters for Roofing Work

A clear Roofing Project Agreement reduces misunderstandings about materials, timelines, costs, and warranty coverage, allocates risk between parties, and creates evidence for dispute resolution or insurance claims. Properly executed agreements are admissible and enforceable under ESIGN (15 U.S.C. ch. 96) and UETA where adopted.

Who Typically Prepares and Signs This Agreement

Typical parties involved in completing a Roofing Project Agreement.

  • Property Manager or HOA Representative — Acts on behalf of multiple owners, often requires additional approvals or insurance evidence.

These roles determine approval workflows, signer authority, and which supporting documents are required before work begins.
