Common mistakes that delay inspections or void records

  • Using informal abbreviations or incomplete addresses prevents cross-referencing with permits and can cause inspection rejection.
  • Missing license numbers or expired credentials for installers often result in corrections or administrative fines from authorities.
  • Failing to record manufacturer model numbers or flow rates causes noncompliance findings with efficiency or water-conservation codes.
  • Not capturing or attaching inspection corrections and rework details leads to repeat inspections and added fees.

Consequences of incorrect or incomplete forms

Failed Inspection: Re-inspection fees
Code Violation: Civil fines
Delayed Occupancy: Permit holds
Warranty Issues: Voided coverage
Liability Exposure: Increased legal risk
Insurance Denial: Claim disputes possible
