Security — Savings Account Pledge

As security for repayment of the indebtedness under this Agreement, Borrower hereby pledges and grants to Lender a security interest in Borrower's savings account identified below and any deposits, dividends, and interest credited thereto (the "Collateral"). Borrower authorizes Lender to set off against the Collateral in the event of Borrower default as provided in this Agreement.

Borrower authorizes Lender to obtain verification of the savings account and acknowledges that Lender may place a hold or lien on the Collateral consistent with this Agreement. Borrower further authorizes periodic notices to the institution to perfect or maintain the security interest.

Borrower authorizes the pledge and consents to setoff against the identified savings account in case of default.

Interest, Payments, Prepayment

Interest shall accrue on the unpaid principal balance at the stated annual rate compounded in accordance with Lender's standard practice. Payments shall be applied first to accrued fees, then accrued interest, and then principal. Borrower may prepay the Loan in whole or in part at any time without penalty unless otherwise indicated below.

Default and Remedies

The following shall constitute an Event of Default: (a) Borrower's failure to pay any installment within the applicable grace period; (b) Borrower's insolvency or commencement of bankruptcy proceedings; (c) any representation or warranty of Borrower becomes false; or (d) Borrower fails to perform any other obligation after written notice and a cure period of days.

Upon Event of Default, Lender may declare the entire unpaid principal and accrued interest immediately due and payable, exercise rights of setoff against the Collateral without further notice to Borrower to the extent permitted by law, and pursue any other remedies available at law or in equity.

Representations and Warranties

Borrower represents and warrants that Borrower is the lawful owner of the pledged savings account; that no other security interest exists in the Collateral except as disclosed to Lender in writing; and that this Agreement constitutes a legal, valid, and binding obligation enforceable against Borrower.

Notices

All notices required or permitted under this Agreement must be in writing and delivered to the addresses set forth in the Parties section or to such other address as a party designates by written notice. Notices are effective upon delivery by hand, five days after deposit in U.S. mail, or one business day after confirmed overnight delivery.

Miscellaneous

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior agreements. This Agreement may be amended only by a written instrument signed by both parties. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state indicated below.

Acknowledgments

Borrower acknowledges receipt of a copy of this Agreement and understands the nature of the security interest being granted. Borrower authorizes any necessary verification of account balances and agrees that Lender's setoff rights do not require prior judicial process except as required by applicable law.

What a Savings Loan Contract Is and when it applies

A Savings Loan Contract is a written agreement that creates a loan secured by funds held in a savings account, certificate of deposit, or similar deposit instrument. The contract defines the loan principal, interest rate, repayment schedule, security interest in the deposit, events of default, remedies, and priority of claims. It often includes representations and warranties, a governing law clause, and instructions for filing a UCC-1 financing statement when appropriate. Parties may sign the agreement electronically under ESIGN (15 U.S.C. ch. 96) or UETA where applicable to create a legally binding record.

Why a clear Savings Loan Contract matters

A precise contract reduces ambiguity about payment obligations, collateral rights, and default remedies, improving enforceability and dispute resolution.
