What the Security GoSecure Report Is and What It Covers

The Security GoSecure Report is a structured security assessment document that summarizes controls, findings, and remediation for a defined system, vendor, or service. It typically includes scope, methodology, evidence, risk ratings, and an executive summary so stakeholders can understand security posture, compliance obligations, and recommended fixes. The report is used by internal security teams, procurement, auditors, and customers to evaluate risk and to document whether technical and administrative safeguards meet contractual or regulatory standards.

Why a Security GoSecure Report Matters

A concise Security GoSecure Report centralizes evidence of controls and risk decisions so reviewers can assess compliance, contractual fitness, and operational gaps quickly. It supports vendor due diligence, internal audits, and regulatory reviews without requiring ad hoc evidence requests.

Why a Security GoSecure Report Matters

Who Prepares and Reviews This Report

Teams and roles commonly responsible for producing and using the Security GoSecure Report include security operations, compliance, procurement, legal, and client-facing account managers.

  • Security Operations — Prepares technical evidence, test results, and remediation plans for the report; coordinates with IT and engineering.
  • Compliance & Risk — Reviews regulatory coverage (HIPAA, PCI, SOC) and maps findings to control frameworks and contractual obligations.
  • Procurement & Legal — Uses the report for vendor acceptance, contract negotiations, and proof of required safeguards.

External stakeholders such as customers, auditors, and insurance underwriters use the report to verify controls and acceptance criteria before onboarding or renewal.

Essential Sections Every Professional Security GoSecure Report Should Include

A complete report is organized for technical reviewers and nontechnical decision makers. The following components ensure clarity and auditability across stakeholders.

Executive Summary

High-level findings, overall risk rating, scope summary, and quick-read remediation priorities for leadership and procurement.

Scope & Methodology

Defined assets, test dates, assessment methods (review, interview, pentest), and exclusions to establish what was and was not evaluated.

Findings & Evidence

Detailed issues with severity, technical evidence (logs, screenshots, test output), and reproducible steps for verification.

Control Mapping

Mapping of tested controls to frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, SOC, HIPAA) for compliance reviewers.

Remediation Plan

Action items, owners, target dates, and verification steps to close findings in a measurable way.

Appendices

Supplementary artifacts: configuration snapshots, risk matrices, assessment tools, and any signed attestations or certifications.

Required Fields and Core Metadata

Report Title: Security GoSecure Report
Assessment Date: MM/DD/YYYY
Scope Summary: Systems and environments
Author: Name and role
Risk Rating: High/Medium/Low
Approvals: Signatures and dates

Step-by-Step: Producing a Security GoSecure Report

Follow a reproducible sequence to gather evidence, document findings, and produce a review-ready report suitable for internal and external stakeholders.

  • 01
Define Scope: List assets, test windows, and exclusions before work begins.
  • 02
Collect Evidence: Capture logs, configs, and test output with timestamps and source IDs.
  • 03
Document Findings: Record issue description, impact, reproducible steps, and severity.
  • 04
Produce Report: Compile summary, findings, remediation, and appendices for distribution.

Configuring Online Templates and Workflows

When using an online editor or eSignature workflow, standardize fields and routing to reduce manual steps and improve auditability.

Field Configuration
Title Field Auto-populate 'Security GoSecure Report' to ensure consistency
Date Field Use date picker with MM/DD/YYYY format and validation
Evidence Attachment Allow multi-file upload; enforce file types (PDF, TXT, ZIP)
Approval Workflow Set sequential reviewers: Assessor → Security Lead → Legal

Where to Send and How the Report Is Routed

A clear routing plan ensures the right reviewers receive the report in the correct sequence and that approvals are recorded for audit purposes.

  • Initial Delivery: Send to security operations for technical validation and comment collection.
  • Compliance Review: Route to compliance or privacy for regulatory mapping and gap analysis.
  • Legal & Procurement: Forward to legal for contractual risk assessment before vendor acceptance.
  • Customer Distribution: Provide redacted or full report per contractual obligations and NDA terms.

Digital Signing, Storage, and Integration Considerations

Choose a platform that supports secure signing, audit trails, and integrations with your document repository and ticketing systems.

  • File Formats: PDF | DOCX | HTML
  • Integrations: Salesforce | Microsoft 365 | NetSuite | Google Workspace
  • Security Controls: AES-256 at rest | TLS 1.2/1.3

Verify the platform offers tamper-evident PDFs, a complete audit trail, and role-based access control to protect report integrity and meet compliance needs.

Typical Timelines and Processing Expectations

Set clear deadlines for each review stage and communicate expected turnaround times to avoid bottlenecks.

Initial Assessment:

7–14 business days depending on scope and access availability.

Technical Review:

3–7 business days for triage and verification of findings.

Compliance Mapping:

5–10 business days to align findings with regulatory frameworks.

Remediation Window:

Target dates vary; critical issues often require 24–72 hours.

Final Sign-off:

Typically within 2–5 business days after remediation verification.

Key Milestones From Assessment to Closure

Track milestones in a project timeline to monitor progress and ensure timely remediation and stakeholder sign-off.

01

Kickoff & Scoping

Confirm assets, access, and assessment boundaries before work begins.

02

Evidence Collection

Capture logs, scans, and test outputs with immutable timestamps.

03

Findings Delivery

Publish draft findings for internal review and comment.

04

Verification & Closure

Validate fixes and record verification evidence for audit.

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Preparing the Report

  • Inconsistent scope definitions that omit critical assets and cause disputes during vendor acceptance.
  • Insufficient evidence: screenshots without timestamps or source identifiers that make results non-reproducible.
  • Unclear severity rationale that leaves remediation priorities ambiguous for engineering teams.
  • Using unsecured channels for distribution or expired links for evidence that block auditor access.

Risks and Consequences of an Inaccurate Report

Contractual Risk: Breach claims
Regulatory Risk: Fines or enforcement
Operational Risk: Unpatched exploits
Reputational Risk: Customer loss
Insurance Impact: Higher premiums
Audit Failure: Remediation orders

  • We felt most comfortable with airSlate SignNow given their SOC 2 certification and strict focus on ESIGN and UETA act compliance, which simplified audits and procurement reviews.

Practical Tips for Accurate and Efficient Report Production

Apply repeatable controls and templates to reduce errors and speed reviewer acceptance while preserving forensic detail for auditors.

Standardize Scope
Use a consistent scope template that lists assets, environments, and exclusions to prevent disputes and ensure repeatable assessments across teams.
Attach Verifiable Evidence
Include raw log excerpts, tool output, and configuration exports with timestamps and source identifiers so findings are reproducible during audits.
Use Structured Severity
Adopt a documented severity rubric and require a short rationale for each rating to avoid inconsistent prioritization between assessors.
Protect Distribution
Share reports through secure channels, redact sensitive material as required, and record distribution approvals to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
