What the Vehicle Auto Removal Request Is and when it’s used

A Vehicle Auto Removal Request is a written authorization used to document a party’s instruction to remove, tow, or transfer custody of a vehicle and to record authorization for associated administrative updates (title, registration, or property records). It clarifies parties, vehicle identifiers (VIN, plate), the reason for removal, the removal date, and any financial responsibility. Organizations use it for abandoned vehicle removal, property manager towing, title-transfer pre-authorization, or to request administrative removal from inventory or records.

Why a clear Removal Request matters

A precise Vehicle Auto Removal Request reduces disputes, documents consent, and creates an auditable record for towing, storage, billing, and title or registration actions under applicable law.

Why a clear Removal Request matters

Who typically prepares or signs this request

The form protects all parties by documenting consent, cost responsibility, and logistical details needed for legal compliance and billing.

  • Property managers authorizing removal of abandoned or illegally parked vehicles from private lots.
  • Vehicle owners authorizing voluntary towing, title transfer, or removal from private property.
  • Towing companies receiving authorization to tow and store vehicles under contract.

Primary signers and their roles

Property Manager

A property manager signs to authorize removal of vehicles from private property and to confirm notices were posted. Their signature indicates permission to tow and to bill storage costs to the vehicle owner or lienholder.

Vehicle Owner

The registered vehicle owner signs to consent to voluntary towing, title transfer initiation, or release of the vehicle to a towing company, and to indicate financial responsibility for towing and storage fees.

  • 04

How removal requests move from form to action

A simple workflow connects authorization to operational work: verify, authorize, execute, record.

  • Verification: Towing company confirms ownership and checks for liens or law-enforcement holds.
  • Authorization: Manager or owner signs request and provides contact and payment details.
  • Execution: Towing company performs removal and documents chain of custody.
  • Recordkeeping: Signed request and completion record are stored for billing and disputes.
