Car repair fake auto repair receipt for Export
all right guys today we got a 2017 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 L Hemi engine in it and this vehicle right here is exactly a perfect example of uh what I like least about this industry let's get into it so a little backstory on this vehicle um vehicle was into us about 18 months ago and had a radiator done radiator was leaking we replaced our Radiator on it it came back about um a year later so about 6 months ago and um we found a head gasket leaking on it so um we replace the head gaskets on it we don't normally do that kind of work we but you know if it's a good candidate we will this thing had lower mileage on it um so we went ahead and did the head gaskets on it everything fine no problems at all we just attributed it maybe that you know something had happened when the radiator went bad a year earlier or something who knows um we didn't find anything else why always say when you replace R when you replace head gaskets you know they don't just go on their own something normally causes that so um we put a new thermostat and stuff in it we do that kind of work that kind of stuff uh automatically when we do head gaskets so that's all done everything's fine this man uh kind of travels in this vehicle uh he works about you know in Jacksonville which is about you know 45 minutes to an hour south of us depending on where you're at in Jacksonville um so he's down there um um a few weeks ago a couple weeks ago and he's calling us he's like he's messaging us and he said hey you know my vehicle's overheating it's leaking he didn't say it was overheating he said it was leaking coolant leaking coolant not overheating leaking coolant and but he couldn't get it in because he's working and he's kind of in a tough spot right now in his life he's working doing stuff he's kind of living out of the vehicle um so he just is he's just a person that needs a help in hand right now right so we're like all right um we're part of a warranty thing um you know kind of a network so we're like let's you know find you a shop um so he ended up getting to a shop we don't really have any connection with the shop at all and um we just he was inside the network with a warranty deal like take it in there because if it's got something to do um with the radiator you know that'll be covered if it's got something to do with the head gas because they don't normally cover that we'll cover that but um let's get in there let's find out what's going on with it okay well he went on a little bit he wasn't able to get it in because he's working and he just keeps topping it off with coolant he's saying that the radiator's leaking okay he keeps topping it off with coolant well we all know that's not the best idea um so you know whenever you have a leak coolant leak you need to get that fixed quickly because I think can turn from small to big really quick well it evidently um got to the point where you know it overheated on him so he had it towed into a shop one of the shops in the network and um the the shop said that the engine was locked up okay well at this point it's like okay um we need to be involved in this obviously because if it's something you know the client had told us that the radiator was leaking in it so you know if it's something to do with the radiator you know and I know everybody can say well he ran it and overheated 100% he did and that is part of this equation in this thing but we did do the radiator so anyway um we contact the shop you know and and and here's the thing with us and most of you guys that watch this channel a lot you know that you know we like to work together with other shops and I you know I would say I don't have any competition in this industry I don't work I want everybody to to do good so you know we called the other shop um talked to the service advisor she was she was you know nice um and we're just like hey you know tell us what's happened what's going on with it can you tell us where it was leaking from you know just because you know if it's not the radiator because the client told us it was the radiator if it's not the radiator you know if it's something else right well you know and I'm not trying to get out of it we're not trying to get out of the thing we're just trying to get all the pieces put together at this point you know so and we want to help this guy so the service advisor we're on speaker phone with the service advisor so my son's talking to her I'm listening uh we're just having a conversation and we're like hey you know um you know can you tell us where it was leaking from and so she goes to the tech and she's like hey you know can you tell us where this is leaking from blah blah and I mean just incredible and this is so common in this industry and it's just I I it just it bothers me every time it's like immediately he's defensive immediately he's defensive I'm not questioning anything about what this what this man has said I'm just asking for information I just want to know where it's leaking from he immediately jumps all over the service adviser and just says there's no way for me to tell where it's leaking from with a locked up engine right so well basically calling us stupid and stuff too like that we we know that he said you know they they should know we can't we can't tell where we cly confirmed on a locked up engine and my mind is just like how can you not what what is a locked up engine have anything to do I mean those of you right now are typing away comments I know you are and I appreciate it because you're typing comments like oh everybody knows you can check for a coolant leak with a locked up engine the engine running has nothing to do with a cooling system the cooling system is Just Hoses and and passages in the engine right uh you can certainly tell where it's leaking from so he just jumps all over her and boy she fires back um I I I will I'll let you know that but it was an uncomfortable you know situation and we knew immediately right then what we're dealing with we're dealing with a shop that you know in this industry it's well known that shops just love to throw other shops under the bus and it's just just incredible to me that that just happens so often in this business it's like rather than tell somebody you know client something good about their shop they just want to talk bad about another shop that does no good for this industry none so anyway um we're like all right you know and then they they pressure test it and they sell us that the water pump's leaking okay so but they can't tell if the radiator is leing or not which that's fine I get that the water pump you know if leaking really bad maybe you can't get enough pressure on it whatever so we're like all right but the motor's locked up and um so now we're sitting there thinking okay what can we do they're about an hour south he's about an hour south of us so not terribly far away far away uh we talk to the client super super nice guy just needs a break in his life really really does so we uh we just send a tow truck down we're just like we get our the people we deal with for toen we sent out say go get the vehicle let's get it up here let's take a look at it let's do what we got to do we took the shops even though looking back on it now it's like the guy the way he reacted to the cooling system not being able to pressure test be able to pressure test and all that kind of stuff we should have 100% took that as a huge red flag um but we just figured that nobody could misdiagnose a locked up engine I mean a locked up engine is a locked up engine right um I guess there's other ways that you can not turn a motor over and anyway we took their word for it I know more comments being written right now wrong thing to do shouldn't have taken their word for it and we ordered an engine and you want to come we we'll we'll we'll walk over here the engine sitting in the building ready to go and we told him take care yeah we 100% we told the client let's listen we're going to take we're going to take care of this not that it was our respons you know we're going to we're going to fix this vehicle for you 100% um you know really and truly from a from a probably from a legal standpoint I don't think that it was our responsibility um really even from a moral standpoint point you know was it our responsibility no because I mean he ran it without Cooling in it knowing there was a leak knowing there was a problem um you know it's just one of these things where it's like are we going to go we want to help people right and and and we are in a position fortunately doing this for a long time that you know we can handle this right it's it it's not easy it's a big bunch of money right but you know what I just we just talked to the guy and be honest with you we just talked to the guy and was like my son and I we just sat there and talked and said we want to take care of this guy we want to take care of this guy um he he's super nice and he is down on his luck and you know what we all need a helping hand I had some when I was younger I had some people step in and help me out man that's a blessing and we wanted to do that so here it is here's the motor sitting in the building um you know still on the on the pallet and um so we haven't even seen the vehicle yet at this point right I mean the vehicle got towed up here it's sitting out in the lot we ordered this thing um this thing showed up like a day later and we talked to uh one of our texts Travis we're like hey will you come in you know on a weekend and do this we'll pay you to do this you know are you interested in it you know we always offer our guys we don't expect our guys to do anything like that um we just ask them if if you want to do it then you know we can do it make some money if you don't want to do it no harm no foul we're fine with that right so Travis like yeah I'd love to come in and do that um you know we uh we set up you know he he he gave us a price and quite honestly the price that Travis gave us was incredibly too low so we're like no we're not going to pay you that little to do that we're going to we're going to work that we're going to give you more than that so um he's younger he's learning but so we got all that worked out we got everything ready to go um we get the vehicle sure and I go out here to the vehicle um the other day pouring down rain we're like let's just go out there out there to this thing and um so we get out to the vehicle and and the battery's dead in it okay it's set for a little bit so we get a booster pack on it and this is what we're going to do I'm just trying to get the vehicle in neutral to get it in we're going to push it in I literally have guys standing there we're we're ready to push this thing in trying to look at the radiator that we're we're trying to just look at the radiator here on this thing we're trying to you know do we need you know what do we need to do here what happened right we're just trying to figure out what happened so get the booster pack on it let me show you what happened you can see the battery charger on it now the battery is no good in it which is no biggie but I go to I go to uh put in neutral and you know ah you know you got to try it right and it fires up and it runs not a lick a noise not a tap not a tap not a knock not a check engine light says that an oil service needs to be done on it he's due for an oil service on it um that's it I mean the thing I'll will tell you what I did notice is the fan clutch is no good on it now the fan clutch isn't cause I don't think it's causing it to overheat but it does play a factor in this the fan clutch is actually locked up right so I you can just hear it sounds like a bus for those of you that know that that sounds like that you know big big worrying sound and it won't come free so so here here we are with a uh a shop that think about how this could have gone guys think about how this could have gone that shop now the service advisor in that shop she was she was pretty good she she was pretty nice and I feel kind of feel for her because you know she even kind of voiced to us we we've talked to her a few times we've she's voiced to us that you know dealing with those people out there you know the that that shop is just difficult and this is how they always do and she held her own um she fired right back at but like wow what kind of an atmosphere is that you know to have to to have to work in but think about how that could have gone had that service advisor which I'm not saying she was on anybody's side right but she didn't it could have gone like this could have been the service advisor was just like the tech right and immediately threw us under the bus right and immediately said oh that motor's no good they didn't do a good job job that radiator is leaking blah blah blah they're trying to get out of it and all this kind of stuff blah BL I mean and that is common in this business right and in this case luckily that service adviser was a little bit of a buffer I mean the man was sitting in the shop he had a toad in there he's sitting there he had nowhere to go he nowhere to live he's he's pretty much living out of this truck when he was working down there so uh it's I guess the whole point of this video and and the point of this kind of rant is guys don't you know you know don't immediately throw another shop under the bus you don't know the situation that happened in that other shop first of all I don't care what you find you really don't know what the situation was in other shop maybe you see something patched up and maybe maybe that's all that client could do maybe that shop said hey it's a Friday afternoon it's 6:00 my guys are going home I got no way to do this and and and the person's like just can you just throw something on there just to get me I just need to get to the house right and that's only two miles away and then they're just going to keep on driving you do not know the situation right so don't judge first of all and second of all if another shop calls you you know and they trying to work with you be professional right and try to work with them now if they call you up ranting and raving at you I mean stand your ground know your data know that you've done what's supposed to be done show them that right but certainly you know if a Shop's calling you just trying to get information don't take it personal just try to you know they're trying to figure out what's going on they're how far away away in this case you know 60 Mi away it could be that they're 600 mil away they could be that they're 2,000 mil away they're just trying to figure out what's happening without being there right so in this case that shop said this motor was locked up and y'all can hear that motor is not locked up and I'll tell you what's wrong with it I don't even see anything wrong with the radiator okay now I can't pressure test it all the way because we pour coolant in or pour water in it and it poured right out of the out of the um water pump pouring out of the water pump and I'm sure that that fan clutch being locked up has caused that water pump to fail so this thing needs a water pump on at 100% And then it needs to be pressure tested to see if there's anything else going on with it um but the motor is not locked battery was de and you know I and here my son is like the batter is dead and that's what caused the issue I don't know why they deemed it locked up I'm not going to make that judgment I don't know was it the was it the battery dead and they went in there and and clicked it and and it wouldn't turn over I I don't know it was towed in to them and the man sat on the road for quite a while so I think they they heard that it overheated and it wouldn't start and they just said the end lock it's very possible it's very possible that the that the you know the vehicle owner went in there and I'm sure that he went in there and said hey you know it's been leaking coolant you know I had a radiator replaced and it's been leaking cooling I think it's coming from the radiator and you know now it overheated and you know whatever um and maybe it did overheat and shut off I don't know right so but I I guess we block tested it too by the way yeah and we did do a we did do a um a head gasket test just to be sure that the head gaskets were good we don't we don't find anything wrong with this motor we're going to put a a water pump on it and I will tell you right now if we put a water pump on this thing and we run this thing and we take it and put some miles on it we're definitely going to put about 100 miles on this vehicle once we get everything done and we we know that the water pump's good we're going to get a fan clutch on it we're going to take care of this man this man's going to get taken care of 100% right we're and no that water pump is not us 100% right but but we're going to fix it right we're going to take I mean we're going to put a motor in the car so happily put a m pump on this thing um so we're going to do that we're going to drive it around we're going to make sure the radiator is okay if it's not okay we're going to take care of that if there's any issues with it we'll put an update we'll let you guys know but as I've right now I don't see anything wrong with this motor and it's a sad state in this business that that technician is yelling at that service advisor because another shop is professionally asking for some information and uh and and even sadder is that technician if he really thinks that you can't test the cooling system pressure pressurize the cooling system because a motor's locked up that's a whole educational thing that's some training that person needs you know so um I mean so yeah and no we're not going to name the shop at all don't don't ask don't leave a comment on naming the shop we were 100% not going to name the shop um that's not going to do anybody any good right so might need to call the shop talk to the owner though well I think what we need to do is call the shop talk to the service advisor and see if the service adviser maybe wants the job you know because she's she was nice and could handle those guys right so um I think she's in the wrong spot I think she's in the wrong in the wrong shop but but guys that's my rant that's that's one of the biggest problems with this industry is know it just seems like every shop wants to throw another shop under the bus dealers throw Independence on under the bus independent though dealers under the bus you know um independent though independent under the bus it it's just you know individual mechanics though other mechanics under the bus it is just absolutely insane that we do that um so let's stop doing that let's be professional and let's work together to make this industry better and let's just own up to things we do wrong let's take care of people that's what we're supposed to be doing so hope you like this one uh definitely not a fun one but I hope you like it and uh if you did thumbs up subscribe Bell don't forget 100K is coming up got a few thousand left to go I think at this point maybe 9,000 more and we're at 100K we're giving that giving away the ecan plus some other stuff U got some ideas from other things I got to run it by my son but um we're going to be giving away a huge package for that we're going to be mailing it out do not respond to anybody if they call you or message you um if if and they asking you for any kind of financial information and they go oh you won we just need you just need to pay for shipping or something like that do not respond to those crazy people they are scammers do not do it when we give it away we are going to contact you by email it will come from one of our emails which will be royalty autos service.com and we will not ask you for anything except your address because we're paying for everything and we're shipping it to you we're paying for shipping everything so don't fall for those guys all right guys see you in the next one
