In the present study, the authors newly prepared a oil-containing polyimide nanocapsule. The nanocapsule can be applied to thinner films and is expected to increase the amount of the capsules in the film. The alkyl phenyl ether was used as lubricant oils. Alkyl phenyl ether, chloroform were mixed, then added to the aqueous solution containing surfactant. The mixture was agitated by an ultrasonic homogenizer to form o/w emulsion. NoigenEA-170 or NoigenEA-190D (Dai-ichi Kogyo Seiyaku Co., Ltd.) was used as surfactant. The Nanocapsules has been prepared by the interfacial polymerization technique [1]. The size distribution of the nanocapsules was measured by a dynamic light scattering. The oil-containing nanocapsules were injected in the Watt bath containing a cationic surfactant, hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). The electrodeposition under constant current condition was carried out by two electrode system. Copper sheets were used as the working electrode. The mean particle size of the nanocapsule prepared using EA-190D was found to be about 150 nm. Figure 1 shows SEM image of the composite nickel coating. The current density was set at –20 mA/cm-2. It was confirmed that the spherical nanocapsule deposited on the nickel film. The amount of the nanocapsules increased with increase of the CTAB concentration. In the present paper, the influence of the plating conditions such as current density, CTAB concentration on the nanocapsule composite nickel film properties were investigated in detail. Figure 1.
