What the HR CIIA GA Form Is

The HR CIIA GA Form is a Confidential Information and Inventions Assignment (CIIA) used by employers in Georgia to document employee obligations regarding trade secrets, proprietary information, and assignment of inventions made during employment. It combines confidentiality language, invention assignment clauses, and signature blocks so employers and employees record mutual understanding of IP ownership. The form may be completed on paper or electronically; enforceability depends on clear signing intent, demonstrable consent to electronic records, and compliance with federal and state e-signature rules such as ESIGN and applicable UETA provisions.

A standardized HR CIIA GA Form clarifies ownership of work product, reduces ambiguity in post‑employment IP disputes, and streamlines onboarding. It creates a consistent record of employee consent and assignment, which supports HR audits and legal review while aligning with electronic signature and record retention practices under U.S. law.
