What the Student Learning Opportunities document is and how it’s used

The Student Learning Opportunities document records proposed or approved experiences available to students outside standard classroom instruction, such as internships, fieldwork, student teaching, community service placements, or supervised research. It defines the activity scope, learning objectives, duration, supervision arrangements, and any academic credit or evaluations. Institutions use it to set expectations between students, academic supervisors, and host organizations, and to document consent, liability acknowledgements, and data-sharing permissions where applicable to FERPA or HIPAA-covered situations.
