Learning Objectives and Duties

Student will engage in supervised teaching activities to achieve the following measurable objectives:

Responsibilities of the Student

Failure to meet expectations may result in removal from the placement.

Responsibilities of the Host Institution / Cooperating Teacher

The Host Institution and Cooperating Teacher will provide a supervised professional environment, offer regular feedback, allow observation and co-teaching opportunities, and complete required evaluations in a timely manner per university procedures.

Responsibilities of the University

The University will assign a qualified supervisor to provide guidance, conduct scheduled observations, advise on assessment and grading, and serve as liaison between the Student and Host Institution regarding performance concerns.

Evaluation and Grading

Evaluation will be based on observed performance, lesson plans, reflective documentation, and fulfillment of required hours. Final grade is assigned by the University instructor based on documented assessments and the cooperating teacher's evaluations.

Health, Safety, Background Checks and Clearances

The Student certifies that all required clearances and immunizations required by the Host Institution have been obtained and are current. Liability, Insurance and Indemnification

The Student understands that the Host Institution shall not be responsible for personal property loss. The Student is advised to maintain appropriate liability insurance as required by the University. Each party agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the other for claims arising from its own negligent acts or omissions in connection with this practicum, subject to applicable law and institutional policies.

Termination and Removal

The Host Institution or University may immediately remove the Student from the placement for breach of professional conduct, failure to complete required clearances, or other cause. Removal from placement may result in academic failure for the practicum component.

Confidentiality and Professional Conduct

The Student will comply with all laws and policies governing student privacy and confidentiality, including maintaining the confidentiality of student records and communications. Professional behavior and compliance with school policies are conditions of continued placement.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes regarding performance, grading, or removal shall be addressed first through informal consultation among the Student, Cooperating Teacher, and University Supervisor. If unresolved, the University's academic grievance process or equivalent institutional procedures will govern.
