all right so we're moving over here and we have a vehicle turning in front of us okay good braking good braking non-issue at that point might have scared you so it became an issue [Music] it's not that big of a deal not the big deal it happens all the time guys write in the comments if this type of stuff happens you all the time in a car or even on a bike we go through the whole system of white yellow orange red brown stage and right here what we see is we have a vehicle turning left okay so it's very easy to understand that people are gonna be turning in and out of places now we see somebody right in front of this suv that's gonna turn left in front of us maybe they're going slower or maybe once this person left the area this person's like i like this i like this area that's nice i want to stay there nice and cozy it's a little warm and for us as riders we should be able to not be surprised with this much total stopping distance we should be able to see what this person's doing before we start panicking but we were honking our horns we're getting agitated you hear the bike starting to chatters because we slam the brakes so abs is starting to kick in and we're not doing what we're supposed to be doing and then we get upset now why are we getting upset why is abs getting kicked in why are we using the horn how come we didn't see this thing in the first place it's because we weren't paying attention okay we were either in white stage or we went straight to red stage thinking that's what you had to do so whenever i teach a class or whenever i talk to somebody new especially when they come from the car world or if they've come from learning on their own you start to go down this learning path on your own where you know what uh i see a lot of moto madness and they honk the horns when somebody cuts them off so i'm gonna start going down this path of moto madness training and i only say moto madness because that's one of the popular ones but any like these crash compilations so i'm gonna go down this path of honking the horn rev bombing and start going going going going down this other path what i want you to start doing is going down the right path so you're going down okay i see somebody coming to my lane i have good situational awareness okay fundamental skills of progressive braking okay i'm glad i have full gear okay this thing is not a big deal i'm going to go ahead and maintain my composure and no ego is going to come at me you can only get on that path if you start on that path so you start to go like this though with mode of madness and stuff and then now this is your new normal this is your reality this is what's right so you being upset you flipping people off punching mirrors that is what's right to you it's like what are you talking about all cars want to kill us all all cars don't see us people are stupid they're always on their phones they're always doing this when you get down to that mindset you start getting in this echo chamber of oh yeah you know i saw it on modamatis so it must be true i saw it on here i see it in the comments my friends say it all the time so it has to be true has to be true that you know this is what how you do things is motorcycling is dangerous motorcycling is dangerous but there's ways to mitigate a ton of that danger so is freaking firefighting firefighting is inherently dangerous it kills people all the time it kills a ton of firefighters every year at least 100 firefighters a year guys there's ways to make firefighting as safe as possible for firefighters and it's also a way to make it as safe as possible for occupants you know fire inspectors fire code building permits all these different things help keep occupants safe and then you have firefighters that come in when it's not when it when it fails and then they have to be safe when they go into the building that's about to collapse on them so they have gear when it comes to motorcycle riding it's not safe if you don't make it safe if you choose to just hop on the road and you're starting to ride like it's nothing and and you're like i don't care and you'll get you'll get into a crash you'll get severely hurt and if you follow the training from your friends or from i'm gonna say moto madness again but it could be anything this is 99 lives right here you could be following this training these video trainings and realize this is what i have to do i have to flip people off i have to get agitated i get pissed i'm tired of it i'm so tired of it i want everyone to to understand yes it's dangerous but with proper training with your ego aside you can handle these situations and it won't be negative this is a non-issue take a look at this non-issue this happens all the time take a look at right here right where my hand is look at see right here this is the fairing when you apply front brake pressure reply any deceleration you start to nose in okay so that weight goes to the front tire so watch this front end disappear but then right on the bottom you can see it go like this that's abs kicking it [Laughter] you guys see that so what's happening here is the horns being applied abs is being activated we're not stopping in time or at least it feels like we're not stopping time and we feel like this suv cut us off so abs kicked in abs got kicked in because we applied too much front brake pressure it activated abs because it started the tire started losing some traction so it releases braking adds braking releases braking adds braking that's why it's so jumpy and you feed it feel it in your hands when you squeeze it really hard you'll feel the abs want to punch your fingers out okay that's what's happening here so how do we prevent abs from punch trying to punch our fingers out and activate good progressive brake pressure how do you get good progressive brake pressure go to a parking lot and practice okay so that's gonna solve that problem right here let's go back even further so when did the horn start this is the moment we perceived and reacted perception and reacted we perceived the moment this person hit the blinker we started to honk the horn we started to apply some brake pressure okay we have good situational awareness that's a good thing we as soon as we saw that blinker and then cross that line we noticed it we recognized it we perceived it and we started to do something about it now what is it that we did wrong right here we did great with situational awareness what did we do wrong that is that activation of the horn and then slamming that front brake thankfully we had abs if we didn't have abs boop dumped the bike but we already talked about how to help out with the abs so horn good perception terrible reaction the horn is not a red stage maneuver red stage over there on the top right is going to be emergency braking or emergency swerving okay so let's take a look at where we're at here can we swerve left now we'll probably hit this vehicle i don't know if that's a vehicle coming this way probably is or stood in the middle lane can't swerve left anyways because we got the tanker can't swerve right because look at that vehicle right there so what can we do we can decelerate pretty pretty well okay so that's really all we can do he applied way too much front brake pressure activated abs that's what saved him the abs saved him and activating brakes that saved him so how do we get to a point where we're doing amazing right here remove that horn remove the horn really focus on your braking we see this vehicle moving off we see the pattern of all these vehicles in this lane come on guys you can finish this for me we see the patterns in all this lane and our lane is opening up these vehicles want to go in for openly okay that's that's that's really what it is this is that pattern we see all the time we see it on this channel when you see a ton of vehicles in one lane and the lane that you're in has opened people are going to want to get into your lane this is the pattern so when you recognize this pattern right here go into orange stage so your perception and reaction is even shortened orange stage you're prepped and ready you have your hands over the clutch and the front brakes and your foot over the rear brake and you're kind of paranoid finding something that might happen to you so we're going to go ahead and squeeze that brake pressure if we need to but right here we're prepped and right we might move over here a little bit to give ourselves a better space cushion okay so we went through the whole root cause analysis of right at the end right here getting pissed off abs kicked in okay we got cut off abs kicked in because we slammed it too much back a little bit further we were using our horn in a red stage maneuver and slamming the brakes but we had good situational awareness now if we go even further so this is where it started with the situation awareness we go back even further how can we prevent this in the first place recognizing this pattern that right there is the whole root cause analysis i just gave you guys a huge huge insight of what i think about when i see this video and any video i constantly do that so that's why i like to watch it first and then i go back but right here is when we should start to understand there's a possibility of a problem all these vehicles lined up on the right our lane is wide open if i were them i would want to move into that lane so situational awareness will prevent a lot of these things [Laughter] now i don't have to do that for the rest of the videos all right guys [Music] and that this now it's the after part where you're agitated it's like guys i don't want you to be agitated because now you have this nasty feeling of of i hate drivers so that now the next time somebody does something tiny you're going to act like this too
