Adopt-A-Bull Rescue, Inc.
ADOPTION APPLICATION
Thank You for your interest in adopting one of our rescued English Bulldogs! We make every attempt to match
prospective adopters with a pet that best fits their home and lifestyle. Filling out the application does not obligate you to
adopt, nor does it guarantee your application will be approved. If you do not answer every question, your application may
be rejected or delayed. Please fill out the application thoroughly and legibly. If you have any questions, please visit:
http://www.adoptabullrescue.comor email adoptabullrescue@gmail.com.
*** VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE COMPLETELY READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO LEARN HOW
WE OPERATE & CONDUCT ALL ADOPTIONS!***
THE FIRST STEP IN OUR ADOPTION PROCESS REQUIRES ALL INTERESTED PARTIES TO SUBMIT AN ADOPTION
APPLICATION. We may not respond to individual inquiries unless you have an adoption application on file with us. Our website
is updated daily; please do not ask if information posted is accurate.
We do not operate on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. Our primary goal is to match the needs of each specific dog with the
most suitable home. Please be patient! If you want a dog RIGHT NOW, then please take a trip down to your local animal shelter
and adopt from them. We are a private, non-profit, all volunteer run, foster home based rescue organization; this allows us to be
very selective in the adoption process and match each dog with the best home. While filling out this application, you may state
your preferences, but please remember that you are applying to adopt an English Bulldog from us, not a specific dog by name.
We will no longer adopt to families that have children under 5 years of age unless they have bulldog experience.
We are foster home based. We do not have a commercial establishment/kennel where our rescue dogs are held. Each and
every bulldog is cared for in the personal homes of our approved foster parents, or by members of our board of directors where
they receive lots of TLC and individualized attention according to their specific needs. Because we are completely foster home
based, there is no where you can come see the dogs we have. Visit our website to see all dogs or join our meet-up group to attend
our bi-weekly events.
The adoption process is not rushed; it will not be sped up to accommodate your schedule. The adoption process can take
anywhere from 2 days, 2 weeks, or up to 2 months. We take our time in making sure our rescue bullies go to the best homes
possible and to a family that can confidently care for an English Bulldog. Please be patient, we operate solely on volunteers. In
addition to our rescue responsibilities, we also juggle a family, home, and full time jobs. We respond quicker to those that have
an application on file with us and to those that read & follow directions. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an
application to us, we may already have approved applicants that are already waiting for their perfect match. Even if we do not
currently have a bulldog you are interested in, we suggest you submit an application so we have it on file and you will be added
to our waiting list.
We do not ship/fly our dogs! We have recently changed our rules to allow out of state adoptions in some cases, (determined
on a case by case basis, depending on the bulldog) however, you must be willing to travel by automobile to adopt your new
family member. Air travel is very dangerous to the English Bulldog breed. Please do your research!
In the event that Adopt-A-Bull Rescue is able to find a suitable bulldog to join your family, there will be an adoption fee for
the bulldog. Adoption fees can range from $250 - $650 and often times only covers a fraction of what we have spent on the dog.
It is very rare that we receive puppies, however in these instances; the adoption fee may be higher. Adoption fees are little to
nothing for senior or special needs dogs. If you cannot afford the adoption donation, you probably won’t be able to afford the
life-long medical care and yearly vet bills for a Bulldog. DO YOUR RESEARCH before applying to adopt from us! (Read the
next page for more on this.)
All our rescued Bulldogs have been thoroughly examined by a licensed veterinarian, de-wormed, up to date on required
vaccinations, screened for parasites, spayed/neutered prior to adoption, temperament tested, and fully evaluated. Any and all
medically required (non-cosmetic) surgeries will be performed by Adopt-A-Bull Rescue prior to adoption.
This is NOT an online application; you must print it out, complete it, and then send it in with ALL required attachments. Do
not try to copy/paste, or submit this application back to us via e-mail. In order for this application to be reviewed by
Adopt-A-Bull Rescue, it must be accompanied by a non-refundable $20 processing fee and mailed to the address below.
(Processing fee is waived for Adopt-A-Bull Rescue members) For faster processing you may fax your application and ID to
954-586-5550 and pay via the "PayPal Donate" button on our website. A complete application should include this printed
application, processing fee and copy of your driver’s license/identification card together in one envelope.
Within 24 hours of receipt of your completed application package, you will be contacted via email. Adopt-A-Bull Rescue, Inc.
reserves the right to deny an application for any reason. Failure to have your current pets spayed/neutered, having an unsecure
pool or any other hazardous condition on your property may also result in a denial.
Shortly after your application is reviewed by our Board, we will call you for a phone interview. Once pre-approved to adopt,
we may then schedule an appointment for a 'meet & greet’ to be performed at your residence. If you do not live in Broward,
Dade, or Palm Beach County, FL you should be prepared to submit pictures of your entire house & upon request. Thank You in
advance, we look forward to reviewing your application!

ADOPTION FEES & What's Included
Our goal at Adopt-A-Bull Rescue is to have all of our adopted dogs go to their new homes as healthy
as possible. Our vets provide a full array of treatment and preventive care for our rescues when they
first arrive and continue caring for them until they are discharged from our program. Sick or injured
dogs are treated to the best of our abilities, often using funds provided through donations from the
general public. We are always open to and gladly accept donations to help with our rescue work. We
are funded and operate solely on the generosity of the public. We do not receive any government
funding; yet rely on donations and minimal adoption fees to help cover the costs of all our expenses,
the majority being veterinary care for our dogs in foster care. Donations allow us to provide food,
monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative, tests, comprehensive blood work, heartworm treatments,
x-rays, surgeries, and much more for those dogs in need-- things we normally could not afford.
It is not unusual for us to spend several hundred dollars (even thousands in some cases) to rehab a
bulldog until they reach a point where they are considered "adoptable." If Adopt-A-Bull Rescue
passed on 100% of these costs to the adopter, our bulldogs would never get adopted; it would be
entirely too cost prohibitive! To be fair to our adopters and to also keep Adopt-A-Bull Rescue
operable so we can continue to help dogs in need, our board of directors has set standard adoption
fees at $650; less for older dogs/ones with serious or terminal health issues; and on occasion, more
for younger healthy dogs or puppies. Your adoption fee will reimburse our organization for costs
spent on the dog you are applying to adopt and/or also provides rescue assistance for the next bulldog
that has a need to enter our program.
An article we have found helpful in explaining adoption fees imposed by rescue groups can be found
on the internet. Please read more at: http://www.naiaonline.org/naia-library/articles/reuse-recyclerescue-adoption-fees-rescue-dogs-are-a-bargain-not-a-gift/
