hi and welcome back to another Amazon selling  video if you're new to my channel I'm Nikki   Kirk and this is my sixth Q4 selling on Amazon  we are unofficially in the heart of Q4 right now   it has just kicked off in September even though  officially like Q4 is October November December   things start selling right now so hopefully you've  already seen that kind of pick up if you're new   to my channel don't forget to subscribe it means a  lot to me and it costs you nothing so don't forget   if you haven't already to go ahead and subscribe  you can even hit the bell and like it'll tell you   right when my videos come out so if you're already  subscribed thank you so much I am currently out   here in Oklahoma on my property I've got the 80  acres of hay that way and behind me is the other   160 Acres up on that Hill there is where I'm going  to eventually build a house eventually um I don't   know if you can even see it in this video but just  a little fun fact about where I'm at so in today's   video we are going to continue our Q4 prep series  if you missed any of these videos I have a whole   new playlist that I created right on my channel  q42022 prep and you can watch them there I'm going   to be going over the top fbm questions that I have  gotten because if you didn't know Q4 is an awesome   time to be FB I mean in fact you'll want to be FB  I mean even if this is the only time you ever do   it and I'm going to go over the shipping templates  I'm going to go over mine and how you can create   them and how you can figure out how much to charge  or not charge and all of that one last important   announcement before I jump into fbm is my Q4 bolo  plus coaching group is officially open next week   we'll be having our first of seven Hangouts we're  gonna have holiday parties and not only that it's   bolos right it's gonna be what's selling this  Q4 what's hot what are we FB I mean what are   we making crazy profits on all of that is now  open it closes on October 1st so if you want to   join now is the time to join here is a little  bit about how it went last year year so this   year we're actually increasing last year I did  three Hangouts this year we're gonna have seven   we have 16 weeks of ebolos so last year's bolos  were on average 120 Roi so return on investment   the average profit for the Bolos was 14.60 and the  average sales rank was 61 000. so and all across   all the categories of all ebolos were shared those  were the averages so here is another thing that is   why the bullet group is so awesome because of fbm  okay so last year we all were fbming a hot toy and   I made fourteen hundred dollars profit in two days  I sold like 136 I think it was I can't remember   the exact number of this one item over two days  and made that profit so quick it is so exciting   Q4 is a great time to be selling so if you want to  surround yourself with an awesome Community I'm in   there helping coaching um doing these live chats  where we ask and answer any questions you have but   we're also guiding you through Q4 along the way so  if this is your first Q4 or if you just want to be   experience it with other settlers this year and  make the most of your Q4 it is now open to join   and just as a reminder as you are prepping with  supplies and tools softwares anything you need   to help your business including that bolo group  is a tax write-off so it's towards the end of the   year and you want to be writing off as much as you  can so if there's something out there that's going   to help your business don't and you have the  funds obviously to join it definitely consider   it because it's really going to help grow your  business and take that tax deduction at the end   of the year okay now let's jump into fbm so I did  a whole video earlier it's a part of that Q4 prep   series which goes over why you want to fbm and  there's so many awesome reasons why you want to   but this video is going to assume you already  are wanting to fbm and now you're ready to do   it so I'm going to go over the three steps of  fbm and of course the first step is the hardest   shipping templates this is the number one question  and the number one like hold back to people is you   don't want to lose money right in the shipping  so shipping templates really honestly it's just   kind of like Amazon the best thing is to get in  there make one and do it and change as you need   to too but I'm going to walk you through shipping  templates how you can estimate how much something   might cost when you want to do free shipping and  all of that so let's dive in if you didn't know   you can actually have up to 20 shipping templates  so I recommend making at least one maybe two and   going from there you want to have a free shipping  template and you want to have one that's going to   charge because there might be times where you want  to charge money because it's a heavy item or it's   an expensive item all the different reasons that  you want to charge so I recommend having at least   one possibly two I have four shipping templates  and the one I use the most often is actually the   free shipping template because Amazon's kind of  groomed people to want free shipping and I know   that I get kind of annoyed when I have to pay for  shipping on something Amazon or elsewhere so just   know that like if you can offer free shipping  it's very enticing to the customer but again   there's going to be times where you don't want  to now of course a free shipping template does   not mean it's free right the customer gets free  shipping but you're actually going to have to   pay for it so you want to know how much it's  going to cost you and you want to buffer that   in when deciding whether or not to buy that item  whether or not to list it fbm I'm going to start   off first with USPS the post office because  I think they're the easiest way to estimate   on the fly if you need to how much something is  going to cost if an item is lightweight under a   pound and you can send it first class mail it's  not going to cost more than six dollars in fact   the most it will cost is 5.98 so I have here  a link to the website that I'm showing which   shows the different zones and all that you don't  really need to know all that you just need to know   the most it's ever going to possibly cost you if  it's lightweight fits in a padded envelope weighs   less than a pound including the envelope it's  not going to cost you more than six dollars so   that is super easy way to calculate I usually  buffer five dollars I rarely have something   unless it's a bigger item on the verge of that  um 16 ounces which is a pound so if it's under   16 ounces you're good but if it's on the verge  of that then I kind of like estimate it might be   550 but I always just kind of say five I've been  sending out a lot of small Beauty items and they   cost like three 350. so buffering in five means  I'm gonna have actually two dollars more profit   right if you start to get into a heavier item and  it will fit in a either flat rate padded envelope   like this these are my best friend I use them  often or it will fit in a box now this is not a   flat rate box this is just a regular priority  box I use them all the time all that matters   is as long as I'm sending it Priority I can use  this free box again free envelope who isn't like   free stuff so if it will fit in a flat rate box  or envelope you know the costs already so this   one to buy shipping through Amazon is 8.45 so  I know it's going to cost me eight dollars to   ship that thing 8.50 so like anything that  will fit in here if it is over a pound then   you know how much it's going to cost to ship and  you can buffer that in again here is the link to   the post office rates now these rates have both of  you are going to walk into the post office and buy   it as well as buying through Amazon so 8 45 for  this one which is the commercial rate as you're   seeing here or if you want to get to know the  boxes again these are free supplies from the post   office you can actually order them online just  have to set up an account and they will ship them   right to you I have a huge massive box of these  like I went to the post office and just asked her   for some because I was out and she gave me this  whole like three foot long box so I am ready to go   now it's important to note that I cannot pay a  flat rate price and put it in that box because   that's not a flat rate box so if you're going to  buy flat rate stuff you want to make sure you're   using the correct box now on Amazon you'll see  the drop down I have an order that we're going   to pack at the end here to show you all that  but you want to make sure that you have the   correct item that you're doing so if you have  just a regular free uh priority mailbox like   I do it's like a six by six by Seven box it's  awesome it fits a lot of things then I can pay   for any priority shipping except the flat rates  right so I can use that box for that again free   supplies awesome now I personally have been doing  the post office because it's right here and my   closest UPS store or Staples is 40 minutes drive  so even though I might have to pay a little more   for shipping I am it's worth it to me because  the post office is right here however if you   have a Staples or anywhere you can drop us UPS  box says then you might want to take advantage   of the UPS shipping because often it is way  cheaper than the post office because Amazon   has a deal they have a commercial account with  ups and so they have these really crazy deals   like you can ship pretty big you know I mean not  really big but bigger boxes for like four and   five dollars right now and again you'll see all  these prices when you get in to ship your item   but just know keep that in the back your mind  that often the UPS discount is even better and   it's a little more safer I've not had any problems  with the post office but you know things happen   especially when they get busy so it's always nice  to have UPS on your side if it's available now if   you want to calculate your shipping cost before  you list your item to make sure your template's   right you're choosing the right template or create  a whole new template if needed before listing you   can go ahead and use pirate ship I'm going to walk  you through how to do it it's super easy you set   up a free account and you can put in the weights  and dimensions of your boxes and go ahead and use   pirate ship now if I haven't mentioned it in this  video you want to make sure anytime you're listing   something that you have the box so I know that I  have these padded envelopes on hand if I'm going   to send it not priority I'm going to need to have  a bunch of padded envelopes for the items if I'm   buying 10 items I'm getting 10 padded envelopes  minimum right you want to make sure you have it   before you ever list it because nothing is worse  but driving around town to town trying to find a   product and you only have a certain amount of time  to ship your item and you don't want to be driving   around looking for a shipping Supply so grab it  and have it on hand before you list your item   okay before we jump into pirate ship pirate  ship is a tool for you to use to estimate   your prices I do not at all recommend buying your  Amazon shipping through pirate ship or any other   platform even the post office because you have  so many added protections as a seller by buying   it through Amazon's program so not only is it  cheaper because you have the commercial rates   but you're protected so if something goes wrong  with your shipment to your customer Amazon is   going to cover you through their A to Z program  however if I bought it through pirate ship and   the package gets lost I am responsible I am out  I might have to refund it and just lose all that   money so always always buy through Amazon it is  almost always cheaper and you have that added   protection all right so pirate ship once you have  your thing set up definitely do the address that   you're shipping from because that's going to come  into the rates so at the top I have it blocked   out but that's my ship from address and so you'll  obviously pick where you're going you can do the   furthest from you so I am in Oklahoma so I'm kind  of in the middle of the country so I'm just gonna   do my old zip code back in Los Angeles just to  get uh estimate again you can drop down here I'm   just going to go ahead and say box or rigid rigid  package I'm going to put in the length of a box let's say it weighs four pounds and click get  rate quote okay and now you can see here is the   estimate so I could do select ground cubic which  is ten dollars I know if I mail it Priority it   could be up to thirteen dollars and I don't offer  these other really options on my shipping template   so I'm not really worried about that now Amazon  sorry pirate ship's gonna say that this box is   probably gonna cost me ten dollars to ship it  weighing four pounds and be in the dimensions   that I put it in however I bet you if I were to  do this on Amazon it might be like six dollars   it's going to be significantly cheaper to do the  UPS so just keep that in mind but this is a good   way like I know if I ship it Priority Mail cubic  and that is a great option because it's sometimes   cheaper but it just it goes by the dimensions  of the box and what they call it cubic and it   is pretty cheap that way now let's go up and say  what if I was gonna do if it's a padded envelope   let's see how much that is okay so now it weighs  four pounds but I can fit it in a padded envelope   not saying that's a great idea that's probably not  a good idea at all but let's just pretend right so   again we have the priority mail is now male cubic  eight dollars and also UPS ground is also eight   dollars again on Amazon it might be five dollars  those shipping rate cuts are really awesome right   now so a quick way to know estimate how much your  item might cost you before you ever list it now I   have a 9.99 flat rate shipping template so if  I'm going to say possibly the furthest I would   send it no probably maybe Washington is further I  don't know but let's just say I'm going to go all   the way to California and it's going to cost me  eight dollars if I do my 9.99 shipping template I   might actually be making a dollar on the shipping  right so it's an easy way for me to say yeah I'm   gonna have to charge the customer for shipping  on this because it's a lot like it's a lot and   I'm not it won't make me the profit I want now  customers will pay shipping they absolutely   will especially if there's not a lot of options or  your option is faster they might pay for shipping   here is some reasons I have lately been actually  charging for shipping and it's been working   so I have some toys that I got the Amazon sold out  and I just have them listed fbm because it's quick   easy way to sell the toys Amazon price tapped  it I can't sell it for over twenty dollars but   I just went ahead and did okay fine 19.99 plus  4.99 shipping and now I'm covering that right so   it's gonna cost it's probably gonna cost me five  or six dollars to ship it the customer's paying   five dollars so I'm pretty good on that cost me  ten dollars to buy the thing so I have a good   estimate that I'm probably gonna make six dollars  after the fees so these are all different things   like like I said just like Nike just do it as you  start to get to doing it you will understand these   things kind of like I do I only know it from doing  it you guys so really just make a template we're   gonna walk you through that next and get out there  and do it okay so that was pirate ship easy way to   estimate now let's go to my shipping templates  under settings you're gonna go to shipping   settings and now you can see the templates that  I have here so like I said I have four I have my   free lightweight shipping I have a 4.99 flat rate  shipping I have free ground shipping only only I   spell only wrong and then I have 9.99 flat rate  shipping the reason I made my 4.99 template was   again I was listing something in store I had  a price cap so I went ahead and listed it with   999 shipping but I didn't want to I didn't want  to charge that much I just hadn't had the other   template ready so as soon as I got home I went  ahead and made the 4.99 flat rate shipping so here   is my free template again I have just domestic  shipping free economy everywhere Transit time   four to eight days I'm going to walk you through  where you could change those if you want to and   then standard shipping you always have to offer  standard I have it at 4.99 plus 99 cents a pound   and then it breaks down the three different  regions there and then expedited I do offer   expedited I don't offer two day or one day or next  day because that makes you in a time crunch where   expedited is just faster so the customer is going  to get it in one to two days but it's not same two   days right so and I also have it at 8.99 plus  99 cents a pound again this is my free shipping   template so if they want free and they want it  you know slower then they are gonna do the free   if they want it a little faster they're going to  pay 4.99 and get it a little faster but hot tip   all that is I'm sending it the exact same way only  the customer is now paying me for that shipping so   it's a win-win on my free shipping template and  then expedited of course they're paying for it   so I have no problem sending it again my free I  only use on items under a pound or where I know   I have that room to pay for the shipping and  so if they're paying for it that means that I   am just making more profit so I tested out after  one of our Hangouts in one of the bolo groups we   test the there is a seller who is former military  and so she said you know if you do these APO F AP   fpo I'm probably saying I'm wrong I'm so sorry but  thank you guys for your service I'm sorry I didn't   say it wrong anyways if you do those all you're  really doing it to is sending it to two US bases   and so you actually aren't paying you just have to  fill out some custom paperwork so I went ahead and   added it I haven't had an order yet but I will  let you know how that goes if I do so you can   see the transit time is obviously longer as asked  to get overseas but I have it here so I have just   standard 4.99 again I took off that free shipping  on these templates and then again I have expedited   free ground shipping only so here is why I have  free ground shipping only you can't send some   things Hazmat things right you can't send them  through the air that is why I have this ground so   um things like perfume flammable things like  hairsprays those really can't be sent you know   per regulations through air so they have  to be sent ground and so I have this free   ground shipping and then of course my 9.99  flat rate again no free shipping and I'm   charging for expedited so since I'm charging 9.99  of course I want to charge even more for expedited   okay so how do you make a shipping template  right here you're gonna Sue create new template   if you have one you want to base it off of so  for my 4.99 I just went ahead and base it off   of my 9.99 and change the prices but if you are  brand new to this you're gonna go ahead and create   a new template now this thing is gonna pop up I  actually don't use this so I'm going to jump into   that in a second but I would hit cancel so that  thing that popped up there is this new shipping   setting automation carrier specific shipping  center it puts a thing on the for the customer   to let them know when they're gonna expect it  however it's so much more work and like you it   it makes you like pick all these different things  I just get rid of it I don't use it so sorry if   you want to use it you just click it over you  click the services you're going to do blah blah   it's just I've never had any problems I'm getting  lots of cells fbm so I don't use that so just get   hit cancel on that if you're just starting out and  you want to if you want to learn it come back and   learn it later after you get this part so what  you want to name it this is what you're going   to see on your phone if you're listening from  your phone you're going to see it in your when   you're listing from your desktop and you'll see  it in your manage inventory so I highly recommend   naming it something rather short that you can see  quickly because there's only so many characters   that show up like on your phone so something easy  that you know what it is it doesn't appear to the   customer it just needs to be able to you and  anyone else in your business to know what it is   so we'll call this the free shipping template  now the per item weight based is what I do but   you can also do price bandage which would be like  if a customer orders you know zero to fifty it's   this shipping if it's 50 to 100 is this shipping  to the I don't do that one I always do per item   weight based which again is like you saw it's  taking Amazon knows how much that item weighs so   if I want to say okay it's going to be 4.99 plus  99 cents a pound so that if things are heavier I'm   not having to pay for that myself it's added on  the shipping Amazon do their math and then tell   the customer hey this would be 648 to ship this  if you want to buy this from the seller so just on   the internet there again so now you see here free  economy so this is my free shipping template so   I want to have that but if you don't want to you  would just be hitting that and then you say okay   again if you wanted to say my I'm doing free  shipping but I'm actually gonna try and get   those cells even quicker so the customer will  think they're going to get it faster because   they will get it faster you could go ahead and do  three to five days you can pick this is telling   the customer how fast they're gonna get it so you  need to make sure you're actually going to get it   there that fast but it will help you if you're  having slow sales look at these things in your   shipping template to help you get faster sales so  I'm going to leave this one four to eight just for   this video okay and like I said you always have  to have standard shipping so if you wanted to   have free shipping there also you could um let's  say again we're gonna do 499 if you want to charge   per pound or if you just want it to be flat you  can do that but every single one has to be the   same really quick something that happened that's  always happened for me but it comes up from time   to time is if you're traveling right so I've been  selling from all over all the 48 states I always   used my one mailbox address for the return address  even though I wasn't in that state I never had any   problems everyone delivered everything just fine  sometimes I probably had to pay more in shipping   because of that but here's the thing with fbm your  your returns if you get any are going to go back   to that address that you have so you can set up  a couple different addresses if you want to but   just know that whatever that return address says  is where your returns are going to go to you have   no say in it that's where they're going to go so  make sure it's an address you have availability to   now like I said I uncheck these I do not want  to offer two-day shipping and I don't want to   offer international shipping I am going to offer  expedited shipping though so you can see here now   let's get hit save so now you can see it actually  let me put which I did not think it was going to   do charge 99 cents per pound to Alaska Hawaii and  Puerto Rico now I'm going to edit this template   because I do not want to do Puerto Rico so  personally I don't do Puerto Rico because   people it costs a lot of money to ship there  even more than I'm charging and so people have   been burned by having to pay like 30 40 to  ship it there so I just take them off of my   templates but it's always Auto checked so make  sure you uncheck that if I wanted to make this   template my new default template you just  click over here and set template as default   if I want to delete it I'll delete it over here  this tab General shipping settings this is where   you're going to have your address for where you're  shipping from and then your fulfillment so your   general cut off time is 2 p.m and then you'll have  your operating days again you can click and make   all these changes that you want to if you say yeah  I'm gonna you know drop off on UPS on Saturday   but not Sunday you can make those changes here  if you know your cutoffs you can do that there   and then you're handling time you definitely want  to check this part out so if you hit edit you will   see that you can edit your handling time so if you  say you're going to ship things out same day you   could go ahead and hit same day again you have to  do this so make sure you're actually able to your   handling time is one day what this does for the  customer is it tells them when they're checking   out that they're going to get your items faster  than say another customer so I have two days if   you had one day and we're the same price you  might actually win the buy box over me because   they're going to get it faster if they want it  faster so just things to note like again like   I said if you're having fbm sales issues where  things are not selling check your templates see   if there's anything you can adjust there and  make those changes and you might win the sell   more okay so the sun came out so I have to get my  sunglasses we are now going to move on to step two   which is listing so Step One is creating those  shipping templates and step two is now listing   the product using your shipping template like I  mentioned never list the product that you don't   have the shipping supplies already there or you're  going to get them that same day you also want to   make sure that your are listing the item that  you actually have so you have to really I mean   if you're going to list in store this is a big one  you want to make sure the item in your hand is the   same one on the listing check that there's not a  hidden bundle check that it's if you're selling   a single it's a single the ounces are the same  everything checks out because nothing is worse   than realizing you sold the wrong product  and having to cancel an order if you're new   to fbm again just list one item because you are  testing this out right you're not sure you think   it's going to be five dollars but oh my gosh you  weighed it wrong or your box weighs more now you   pushed over a pound and now it's actually eight  dollars so you nothing worse than losing money so   just list the one ship the one and then list the  rest after you've confirmed or make adjustments to   your template use a different template what do you  have whatever you have to do you definitely want   to check that first before ever you know listing  all of them and losing money on all of them okay   so let's say I wanted to list this item right for  my phone you would hit this list button down here   and now you can see the rank and obviously  the Asin also if you ever need the Ace in   store and it's not on the features and details  you could just click it right there and grab   it all right so here you're going to see all  the information to list right I'm sure you're   familiar with it but you want to hit more  attributes to be able to see I first have   to say I'm going to ship it myself Merchant  fulfilled and now my shipping templates are   there so you can see all my shipping templates  remember I said you want to have them short so   that you're able to see it so there's all my  shipping templates I'm gonna do free lightweight okay now you're gonna give it a skew if you do so  now just remember that if you have packing lists   with your orders the SKU is going to show up on  that so make sure it's something like that's not   telling the customer hey I got this at Walmart  for five dollars like make sure it's right right   okay so then we're gonna select the quantity  I have five of them I wanna list them at 29.99   and it is new okay check everything out yep I have  five do not hit 50 or 15 and you only have five   double check fat finger mistake is no good I'm  gonna ship them myself and then you can go ahead   and hit save and finish now I don't have these so  I'm not gonna hit save and finish but they will   show up in your offers pretty quick after that it  does take you know a couple minutes like Amazon   to get to there again on the desktop it's the same  thing so I'm gonna show you how to list one there   the desktop version is changing so hopefully it  has a new part there sometimes the new the um   shipping template is hidden now actually I'm glad  it showed it on the phone sometimes it's not there   and it will always if you don't ever see it there  and you hit Merchant fulfilled it's going to your   default one so if you needed it to be a different  one don't list it in store from your phone or if   you are going to use your phone go ahead and go  to the web browser and log into Seller Central   because it's going to be your default shipping  template whatever that might be if all this makes   no sense it's going over your head believe me it  will as you start to do it okay so again back in   Seller Central so here is if you're not seeing  again your shipping template we're going to do   this it did not do the new way so right here  this is the old way it says more attributes   changing stuff all the time all the time so  it might have something over here that says   you're they're showing you like the you know most  necessary but there's one that will say show all I   think it's at the very bottom can't remember the  words exactly what it says but you want to click   that one and it'll show all the different things  just like more attributes so here now I can select   condition is new and my free lightweight  shipping okay great that's the one I wanted   again quantity five you can make  a skew if you want to price 29.99   and then again hit yes now I don't sell I have  these they're like automatically not on but   they're a part of my you know platform even though  I don't sell them I don't have a remote fulfilled   turned on anyways so you just hit again list and  it would be ready to go if you ever need to change   your shipping template now remember I said you  can see here which shipping template is tied   to which item so most often free but then I have  the flat rate if you ever wanted to change it you   would just click on the items and it will take you  back to that same offer page that we were just in   you would go to offers and now you can change  your shipping template if you ever need to after   you already have it listed okay now let's ship a  product so it'll be in your orders manage orders   I've got two items that need to be shipped so  you're going to click here by shipping now at   the top here you're going to see when it needs  to be shipped by and when it needs to deliver by   those are key things that you want to be knowing  and then there's shipping address I've blocked   it out but it's over here to the customer here  is where you're going to select your packaging   so I've never sold this item yet fbm so it  doesn't have my packaging once I do sell it   so like you'll see on the second one once I  have what the packaging is it will now have   that there and I don't even have to do anything  so if you have a lot of orders of the same exact   thing you literally just hit buy confirm confirm  the shipping dates and then come hit by shipping   because it'll already be there so let's I don't  have this on me because I'm in the middle of a   field but let's just say I'm going to do it in a  9x6 envelope it's about inch high because it's a   nail polish I'm going to say estimate again  you would actually weigh it so if you don't   have a shipping scale you want to get one so  I use actually my cooking baking scale because   it does ounces so here we go first class  envelope padded envelope again lightweight   fits in a padded envelope it's going to  cost me 388 and it's going to get there   on Tuesday the 6th if I want to ship it ground  for UPS you can see their discount there it is   880 but it's now discounted to 460. so like I  said those discounts are pretty nice discounts   not nice enough for me because I'm not going to  drive it all the way 40 minutes away and then   I would hit buy shipping I'm not hitting it right  now but then the label would come out and I would   print the label on my Rollo I'm not hitting it now  because I don't those are not the real estimates   and so if it weighs
