templates can be made in two different ways in paint scout either from scratch in your settings or from a previously made estimate first i'll show you how to make one in your settings click the person icon in the top right hand corner of your account and go to your settings from here navigate to your template section and click to add a new estimate template you'll want to label your template and assign which estimate type it's available on you can always add it to more estimate types afterwards by clicking on the top left side here and then select another type if you need to so right now this template is just blank but we'll want to fill it up with some items templates are super helpful if you'd like to have pre-loaded information you know maybe your exterior preparation process a full exterior home that way when you go to build a new estimate you don't have to add those items every time you'll already have them there for you so i'll add in a line item here as well as one side of the home add in some stucco some trim and some window frames a couple of those keep in mind the dimensions and the the quantity of items doesn't really matter too much at this point because you'll be able to adjust it when you use this template add that area and then just make sure to save here so this is by doing it in the settings you can also build a template from a pre-made estimate so for example i'll go to this one over here let's say this estimate i wanted to save as a template you'll just click the drop down arrow beside the send button and save as template add a label here and assign which estimate types it's available on interior and cabinets now we've saved that guy once you're ready to build a new estimate you'll then have those templates to select from
