video to show y'all how we organize or I should say I really because I run this household how I organize my receipts and do bill paying and organize expenses and everything else because I've tried a few different systems in the past and this one I have come up with I think about a year or two ago has worked beautifully for me just using some office supplies and I just love it and it's very organized and I can find receipts like this if I need something or if I need to return something or if my husband needs receipt so I just thought I would share what I do that's worked so well for me so first I would just run over to target an office supply store grab yourself a binder I got this as an Avery binder it is a two inch binder two inch three and Shh would work as well but this is a two inch and it's pretty stuffed as you can see that's the first thing by a two inch binder then you buy these zipper pouches and I will put a link below where I bought these I believe I bought these on Amazon but buy a bunch of these zipper pouches and I think I have seven in here yes I believe I have eight seven or eight and so that's the sign of me I did then the third thing I did was I created labels and I did two months at a time January February March April you know and then all the way through the end of the year then I have a separate pouch for medical receipts for prescriptions or if we do cocaine to the doctor etc and then I have a last one which is miscellaneous important receipts in this one I keep the receipts in here for quite some time I'm buying furniture I keep the furniture receipts here just to make sure the piece works for us our we don't need to exchange it or there's not any blemishes or anything wrong with it I also have our square trade protection programs in here for all of our devices and our tablets or cell phones etc so I keep all of these miscellaneous important receipts in here so I can access them easy what I need to and then here is like things that I might need to return this is an iPad Mini that we bought our son my contact lens prescription if I need to buy more contacts etc so and then Christmas stuff which I can probably show this right now considering what month it is but so anyway this is what I do in to keep it all in a binder and it slides right under my bookshelf in my craft room and it's great and what I do is to pay bills I have three tips number one auto pay whenever and wherever you can if your utility companies will automatically deduct from your checking or if you could pay online with a credit card do that or automatically have it pay or pull out do that I highly recommend it and you don't have to mail anything you have to worry about anything literally it just comes out or charges your card or comes out of your checking and you don't have to do a darn thing it's great it's beautiful I highly recommend it tip number two we use a reward credit card whenever and wherever we can so we have a credit card that gives us cashback between one and five percent on every single purchase that we make all year round so what we do is instead of paying cash or using a debit card which just pulls right out of our checking we charge everything in anything we can't even utilities if our utility bills like my Gaston will let me use a credit card to pay it I will pay it with the credit card and then get that reward on it and then I pay it off every single month so you don't have any interest charges occurring that way you can make a little money from spending money and I have to say these rewards add up especially for us because like I said we use this credit card for everything which is why I keep these receipts in this binder so then the third tip that I'm going to say is every month I get my credit card statement and I need to do this and I'm going to do this as soon as this video is over I pull the credit card statement and I pull out these receipts and I reconciled make sure did we get charged the right amount on the credit card and once I do I check it off and I shred the receipts and they're gone forever but I have the credit card statement as proof the only time I save the receipts is if I think I need to return something or like I said it's a special receipt then I definitely save them but if it's just grocery stuff and going out to eat I shred it and also one thing I'd forgot to mention is you might be wondering why there's three little piles or not yet here this is new I like to organize my receipts by the type so I always have whenever we eat out or restaurant go here the middle is everything like Home Depot grocery store Target clothing and accessories every kind of shopping thing and then here on the end is gas so food gas and everything else and I do that every month food gas everything else and so that just helps me keep them organized because my credit card will categorize them by restaurants by gas links whose super easy for me to just pull out the gasoline look on the gasoline reconcile that these amounts are the correct and then shred them so anyways I'll just show you I have two receipts here that I need to file they are both in April and so what I literally do is I'll go through my purse or after I'm done grocery shopping or my husband likes to store stuff in its wallet I'll go through as well and psyllids receipts out and then I just file them in here here's a gas station one and I zip it closed and I keep it there until it's ready to reconcile and this system has worked wonderfully for me it keeps all of my receipts contained easy access and I want to look at them easy to reconcile and I shred them when I'm done and we move on and I really hope you found this video helpful and I hope you implement a system like
