Cleaning company invoice for teams

those independent jobs they don't all have a company so Uber is paying them in their social security number right but they really are not an employee so I think a lot of these people out here think that they can just use their social security number because they're friends oh I drive U I drive for u e I do this I don't have a business I just put in my social security number and at the end of the year they're GNA send them a 10.99 yeah I mean you can work for yourself though so I'm not saying that you can't work for yourself there are people out there that work you work for yourself Miss myself but I work myself in a company name like all all the clean companies that I work for I only gave them my business EIN number they don't have my social good and then a lot of people that come in you can use your Social Security you don't you don't necessarily have to come in with the e in number like there are several of cleaning businesses that operate like this where they they hire independent people to do jobs for them right but I just see it being an issue with it if it if if it wasn't legal it wouldn't be on the W9 okay they got it on the W9 to where you can put your social or you can put your EIN number just like you say right so yeah you can hire independent people to come clean your home take out your trash or do whatever but there are risk with that whenever you operate that way that's what I'm trying to say you understand y'all y'all tracking yeah you gotta know that's yeah yes I want anybody who I'm gonna hire to have their own company I don't want to get into that Social Security that's just me personally right right and even if you're going to do like a lot of people are doing now they only working for me for one day I just need them to do one thing I'm making sure that paperwork is correct because if anything happens on the job it could be a problem yeah yeah that's right I'm I'm G have to agree with you on that like um from what I just looked that on Google now the reason why you do pay like Miss Johnson said if you pay a person into their social security number you are definitely paying that individual and you want to do business to business so when you want to do business to business you have use the Ein okay you have to use the Ein yeah and that'll protect you whenever them folks try to go down there and say oh no I was an employee the whole time I had to clock in I had to clock out they gave me a shirt see it's a gray line between independent contractor and contract and um employees it's like a real Gray Line that you have to understand or else the IRS will call them directly and they not going to lie for you at all they're not gonna lie for you right they gonna tell all the truth so when they call the the employee or contractor and ask them all these questions then they're going to call you and prone you ask you all the pring questions then they're going to make a decision on whether this person was an employee or a contractor it's more safe if you're going to deal with with uh 1099s to do it the right way I say make sure they are business with an EIN make sure they they got a whole social media um they're advertising their cleaning company on social media okay do all the thing make sure they're sending you an invoice this is why we make our contractors do all the things okay so that it company like there's no argument these people are businesses okay and then you have to check out the company too so once they give you the EIN number you have to go on I think the IRS website and just make sure that the company name that they gave you is that's that's their company and not somebody else's company you're right you can go to the Secretary of State and check that out okay now with employees it's a little different with employees you would go to E verify website to make sure that they are who they say they are you're going to go to the E verify and and fill out you're going to have your employees fill out I9 form and then they're going going to you're going to take that information they put on the I9 form put inside the E verifi just to see whether they are who they say they are on the um on their ID okay you ready for us yeah okay all right so we are live all right so you guys so the first thing that we're gonna go over and I am hiring okay somebody else had their hand hand up everybody put their hand no did you receive my number yes I did I got your number thank you so much for sending it okay welcome right all right I'm sorry I just want to say good morning to everyone first I just want to ask one question sure when you first hiring do you have to do a 1090 um have to do like with the um hiring with the hir I'm sorry yeah we're in in this situation I'm talk I'm only talking about hiring independent contracts at the end of the year what when you hire an independent contractor you're going to have them fill out a W9 form and on the W9 Form it has a slot for them to put their social and put their Ein you want to make sure they're not putting their social on there make sure they're putting their EIN number on there and their business name okay I just prefer to do business to business now can are there companies out there that hire solo cleaners yes there are Solo cleaners that be hired every day they put their name on the W9 and their social security number and they do business to personal like they're they're independent contractor however I found in my experience it being a risk doing it that way okay because they can go back and and try to say that they were an employee and then you have to fight that case I'm G set up a one-onone with you I have to set that up so we can talk more because like I said I'm just starting out really just getting with clients and stuff like that I have my first client today so that's my first so I'm just start but I'm going do a one well congratulations we not let that slide by congratulations yes yes this is the community that that applaud you when you got your first client we can't I can't let that slide past yeah because this is a lonely Journey when you walk it by yourself but the purpose of the community is to give you hold your hand give you a hug congratulate you and push you to keep going absolutely so let us know how that um your first client is okay when you when you go that what do what do you specialize in one question okay so let say you hire somebody and they are partner it's a husband and wife team LL LLC okay it's okay to still hire them although the company is partner with somebody else be working for you if they're not the only person on the company that their name is somewhere on that company and it's not their cousin or their sister's you know company right you made you made a good point Miss Lisa people do in the great words of Miss Joy Hunt is gr me out here in these business streets it is out here people will try you all right I'm I ain't gonna talk no more I'm G let you go oh you're fine we're in the morning meet up girl all right so you guys um today's topic we're going to be talking about your ideal client okay your well ideal client your ideal candidate okay now we're talking about how to attract hire and keep them so the first thing is basically who is your ideal candidate can anyone on this call tell me who is your ideal candidate don't all speak at once so commercial um commercial businesses or commercial clients people with other businesses organizations with a lot of spread footage oh okay CID okay and how do you find that particular ideal candidate so what I've been doing is sometimes I'll just walk into the organization and I'll give them like a copy of my flyer hi my name is rerio and I commercial cleaning um here's my flyer and all the services that I provide okay what about you pristin cleaning yeah typically what you guys can hear me yes good morning uh typically what I've been doing is several things uh I have somebody now assist me with uh the mail out flyers well I think it's known as mail to mail or mail it's direct mailing uh that's one level of it also giving out flyers and sometimes going to nonprofit are great but the person who's assist from me with the male to male she also break down communities and she actually look at she looks at the gross income of homes in those particular [Music] communities she you know sometimes the med level the median household and upper class individuals who live she targets those communities for me so it's pretty yeah that's the demographics I love that that's you just you just said a bar again yeah I hope y'all it's very important that you you know who you're targeting and you're not just putting these ads out there and just targeting because when you speak to everybody speak to no one and some of you guys might feel like oh it's Christmas time I got to run all these specials 20% off 30% off well if you're targeting certain areas like he said he might be in the high-end areas like the um half a million dollar homes and that's their ideal candidate well you know those candidates ain't worried about no special they don't care about no 20% off no 10% no 30% they don't care if you got 50% off they actually gonna be scared of you if it's that cheap right there those clients are looking for Quality Cleaning company they they care about value right so being that you know that you know not to put that foolishness on your advertisement when you're trying to attract that person okay oh no you're fine you're fine okay all right guys so I love every every response so you guys have the um exact direction of where I was trying to go and um you actually hit it on the on the head of what I where I was going basically just knowing your demographics and knowing your true ideal candidate I know that knowing their demographics of where they're at is basically how you target so when someone comes on to your team if they're once you have asked those questions those probing questions that you have to become very very curious when you're hiring individuals for your company okay because the more Curious you are the more information you will retain from them okay so you want to be able to understand all right if this is a candidate that you actually want to hire then if this person say all right well these are the service areas that I actually service do you have any boundaries what areas am do you want to stay within now what you could do because I know this is an issue for us right what you could do is just say if you are can only work in these areas then only schedule that person in those particular areas if certain things come in you only give that person let's just say if they work can only work downtown only give them job that are downtown because what's going to happen is if you hire on someone right and let's just say they told you that they can only work downtown right and if you give them something that's not downtown and somewhere else how can you get mad if they call out if they say they can't make it because people have already told you in the beginning they can only service these areas you never know what a person is going through they might be trying to save up and get a vehicle anything could be happening but you want to kind of you know go within that area of where they can actually work at because it's more convenient for them I know it's somebody right now I think it is Miss blue I think she hired somebody somebody on this call was talking to they have hired someone and they're like traveling on the bus right now and they can only go in certain areas and that is actually a benefit so let's just see I want to know where are you guys going like what was your vision for your company anybody anybody well my vision when I first started my company beautiful new day everybody um I was late to the call oh you my vision for my company was to always remain Deb free when I decided that I was I I didn't have a vision for as the employees that was like my main thing remain debt free and um I have been able to maintain that being that free but then there's also the backside of that of me kind of expanding more slowly because I'm using my own money to fund everything and I'm learning that lesson now so but that that was that that was it the main thing for my compan was to remain okay good good good I love that so you just have to know just starting out with your business and when you come to hiring individuals on going to your team you first have to have a clear understanding of your vision where are you trying to go like what what is your ending goal because a lot of people there there's nothing wrong if you don't want to have a cleaning company forever if you're just starting out that's cool but you want to know your ending goal because when you start hiring on individual e front I I'll go and work for Chick-fil-A you know because whatever they have already have a company yeah you know like I I would go and work for them because their company culture is everything it's like everybody gets the the message you come in you you go through the window it's like my pleasure everybody wants you to have a good experience so whoever comes into your your company you want them to be aligned with your vision and your goal so alignment with company culture what type of company culture are you presenting what type of benefits would a person get by working for you like don't make it about the money you know what I'm saying because if you make it about the money they'll leave you for the next dollar you really have to reach out and figure out what's going on you know what I'm saying because a lot of the times when we're doing interviews you might get beside yourself and you might be talking about your company so much and saying all this stuff that you provide and then a couple of months down the line when the person comes on they're like wait a minute you didn't the expectations are unfulfilled so you kind of like have to slow down and understand okay what are what are my ending goals for my company what am I trying to do because you don't want to just say a whole bunch of stuff and then there's no meaning behind it so you want to get a clear expectation of what are your ending goals so you can align yourself with the right candidate to able to even sell the position does that make sense you guys you guys tracking so now this is independent contractor for employees the type of hiring in your company that you have absolutely but I'm all for that um with trying to structure my dependent contractors on how I'm going to bring them in you know in terms of am I going to gu try to guarantee them a certain amount of work um am I going to reward them a little extra you know for five star reviews I know that's what one of the companies does that I work for um just different things to keep them with your company because independent contractors are not your employees that's right and if you don't give them if you don't make them feel like they want to work for you like tenacity says the next company that comes along and is giving them more work paying them a little more whatever the case may be they're gonna leave yeah they just gonna leave yeah right you have to pay attention to these companies that have a high turnover and why they have a high turnover it's probably because they they they haven't it's obvious they don't have a culture in their in their business it's obvious so the main thing that I want you guys to start thinking about is what is your company culture going to be right when I first started my company I actually didn't have a company culture I was just hiring people and getting clients and matching the cleaners with the clients I didn't have any type of culture at all I I really didn't know what my culture was going to be until my second year of business that's when I said you know what I I think I want to do the contractor model and my my culture is going to be built around tenacity Academy and I started to really think about the things that I didn't like being an employee right so every time I would do these interview sessions with independent contractors I would tell them my pain my story being an employee and I would emphasize on um getting paid $8 an hour and $9 an hour and able to pay my bills and not being being able to take a day off to spend with my kids because I got to work constantly like I'm hitting all of their pain points they all understood the story because they're going through it through it too but we are the solution out right I said it wasn't until I started the business and to where I started to free up my time a little bit more and I was able to really create this whole generational wealth that everybody talks about you know so when I tell that story by the time I get finished telling the story of how I hated being an employee and that's why I built the contractor model to whereas I can give people jobs I don't have to be hovering over them I don't have to um oh it is no limit to the amount of money they can make whenever you're subcontrac and work out to a company they're like man I like that that sounds a lot better than a dollar rate you understand so so that became my new culture I I had to figure out a way to tie tenacity clean with tenacity Academy and you can't train independent contractors but what we can do is let them into our Academy and they can join these calls and they can get the training that way because there this is a whole another business right you understand where where I'm coming from yes and another thing I think is important since we have so many people living in different states because I'm going to do this probably right after New Year I'm going down to my labor board okay in North Carolina and sit down with a representative and get a the whole detail on what the law is with independent contractors I'm gonna have that in front of me and I'm gonna know it like I know my name what the boundaries are with independent contractors because these people out here even business owners they try to get slick you know what I'm saying it is what it is not everybody's ethical you know they don't like you and they know they they've been doing it longer than you and they know there was one slip up you did you paid them cash for a job because they cried or whatever the case may be right they could rat you out so you really just need to know every rule for both now if you have both then you need to know the rules for both but if you're just doing it a a contract you really just need to know what you can and cannot do and then you can base your question to buire them you know on that but I know from my culture and what I have found with all the cleaning companies that I have worked for there's no communication it's just here's the job you go and you never hear from them and you don't hear from them until they have another job wow see and then they tell you well if you want to change the area that you're work in you just go on their online you go on their website or they have it set up and you say okay I only want to do St because I've narrowed it down with certain companies to the only jobs I want to do based upon I make more money with the smaller jobs okay so I'm like I only want to do standard cleans for anything 2500 or maybe like 2,000 I'm I'm I'm on the fence now but I'm not sure maybe 2500 or less but I'm not doing jobs over 2500 square feet or more I'm not making enough per hour like right that's how I do it with me as an independent contractor I need to get in and get out and I need to make like $50 an hour because I got to pay taxes it's my supplies it's my equipment it's my stuff but that's me the other independent contractors may be okay with $30 an hour it depends on where you live and you know what you're comfortable with but I have to base mine on the hour how long is it going to take me okay it's gonna take me four hours to do this job he's paying me or she's paying me $150 okay I'm making at least $40 $38 or whatever it comes out to an hour I'm fine with that I love it so that was a that was a bar right there that was a message for y you got homework start thinking about your company culture what is your culture going to be all about what is it going to look like for an independent contractor and what is it going to look like for an employee okay I think um pristine cleaning you got employees that is correct absolutely and I'm glad I'm glad you pointed a lot of different things out regarding that I wanted to say something to you you said something that illuminated in my mind regarding how you felt as an employee when you were working so what was important to you was pay and a lot of different other things I guess fairness and and days off and things like that you have a family for somebody who has a family as opposed to someone who does not have one and that's where it gets a little hairy because they may have children or whatever the case may be at home but what's important to me is I have a military background and I think what helps a lot just not I can't speak for contractor because I know you guys story but I know with employees you want to try to make it as S as possible so what do I mean by that equipment pretty much will will get you over a huge mountain so proper equipment the uses of equipment and training therefore they know exactly what to do it kind of also falls in line with expectations as well as company culture because you're using machines that breaks I think sometimes owners sometimes they have an attitude of that machine worked for me and then why I can't work for you when you have that kind of attitude you really should every night before I go to sleep I can tell you this right now one hour of my time even if it's after midnight is dedicated to looking at new Innovative Equipment yeah it helps a lot because when you when you're looking at equipment and making things easier for them then they can I I guess they will just adapt to a situation easier they'll know that day is not going to be hard I can't necessarily necessarily get into people's physical elements or uh whatever kind of medical problems they have but you give somebody some equipment that's not going to work and they have a physical problem it's going to be harder for them to get over that day it's going to be hard for them to get over their night work so equipment is equipment and personnel has made my it's just made besides you guys have made like I love it I love it have you ever been to the Issa I have you have yes ma'am because um I plan on going the next time they have one I haven't I haven't went to one yet but I did see the last one that they posted on um YouTube where they had all of this new equipment coming out gosh mean listen when I tell you AI ain't playing with the cleaning industry okay but they have some stuff that will really really help your cleaners get the job done quicker I've seen machines um do a whole Warehouse without by itself like big machines cleaning the floor by itself amazing so I I don't need to cut you off but sometimes you walk Walmart and any and there's a machine coming at you it's uned there is no one on that machine look at stuff like that um they have a system now and it's kind of funny I've been looking at equipment for so long I can pretty much tell you's using it and why they us when I see it when I look at companies like tenant always and even some of the stuff they have atsa that that's the effect of equipment is doable and reliable they have a great track record great history of helping people out so you have to look at those things and you're right AI has changed a lot it's only going to get better terms of just acquiring that so yeah all right I love it I love it I think we're on to something here yes I was trying to find that video of that you remember that robot when we went inside of Sams yeah oh my gosh like that was crazy we had went inside of Sams and there was literally a um kind of like the same thing that he was just talking about yeah it was literally cleaning up we were like okay it's just moving by itself I mean literally this is this is where we're headed to and it's NE this is where we're at all right now you know what the question that I do want to want to ask somebody that um has those machines is is the pay still the same I always wonder is the pay still the same being that you got this machine and is taking away all of the hours from the the the one employee that would be doing the floor right so I I don't know maybe that's for another day that conversation right there but I'm just curious on do you still charge the client the same way you would charge um if you had two employees doing the floor that's the a great question I really don't have a full answer but here's what I'm telling you this is what I think this is just my opinion I think some of your margins may be slice into some of them simply because you brought up a good point about the unmanned machine into the store but here something most of the time especially in Jacksonville Florida a lot of these companies you could pretty much get that's why be a profit on some level but you can still get a decent amount if you invest in a machine a lot of the companies are like hey I really don't want to talk about that you get the maches you do this and you bring those machines so you because it's your machine you're it may not be as much the I don't know John or Mary that floor but you can't get the same amount but you're gonna get something because it's your machine I've went so far to get a purchase a trailer with a lot of my machines um and just qualify people to do it we do have training training you guys know it helps a lot right um just as people need to know what they're doing yeah um that that's that's what I'm that's just my opinion I can't tell you what those actual margins are because I have machines but not on the scale what you're
